The Finance Analyst is responsible to provide creative alternatives and recommendation to reduce costs and improve financial performances. Assemble and summarise data to structure sophisticated reports on financial status and risks, develop financial models, conduct benchmarking and process analysis.
The Finance Analyst should be able to forecast where the company’s money is coming from now and in the future then help managers decide how to invest it in ways that generate the greatest return. The analyst needs top- notch decision- making skills. And he or she needs to be able to contribute to department- specific and overall business strategies and provide data- based solutions grounded in solid analysis. He or she is also expected to translate reports and forecasts into easy- to- understand advice that will streamline processes, improve efficiency, save time and money, and prepare the company for growth.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks Participate in compensation management, semi- annual incentive compensation payments. Provide financial and analytical support for the incentive compensation accounting and forecasting processes. Respond to ad- hoc projects related to incentive compensation program Assist with the new business process and working with Finance and Business Managers. Cash reconciliations, payment date accounting, monthly reporting and report production, daily modelling, analysis and reporting and financial Analysis. Responsible for the day- to- day general ledger accounting and reconciliation, financial reporting and analysis for assigned functional areas. Research and resolve Business Unit(s) inquiries for assigned functional areas. Perform monthly balance sheet, income statement and changes in financial position/ budget variance analysis Investigate and report to the Manager any inconsistencies or improprieties. Analyze data to ensure proper accounting procedures have been followed Prepare financial reports, charts, tables and other exhibits as requested Train new employees and ensure training material/ documentation is kept current Responsible for performing special projects to improve process efficiency and performance Projects as assigned by Management Provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting & analysis of the results of the division s performance against historical, budgeted, forecasted and strategic planning results to facilitate decision- making toward the achievement of the budget and strategic plan. Maintain and develop various financial models and standard templates distributed for use by all of Finance during the planning processes, ensuring quality, accuracy and focused analytic review. Support Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) business unit analysts by being the first point of contact for issues and questions. Demonstrate appropriate understanding / working knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls, and apply them. Describe an insightful use of financial analysis techniques, tools, and concepts, to provide practical counsel to business area partners and management to drive business results. Understand and facilitate the integration of business processes, people, and relevant technology, in order to identify, configure, and communicate useful information, and to provide practical business leadership to drive business decision making across the company. Identify non- value added processes within the department and seeks solutions. Skills & qualifications required Examine business analysis requests obtained from management and client to determine operational problems and define data modelling requirements, validation of business requests, and problem solving parameters Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems Identify opportunities to develop new initiatives and improve business performance Identify client organization s strengths and weaknesses and suggests areas of improvement. Perform cost- benefit, return on investment and earned- value analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions Conduct research on software and hardware products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts Create systems models, specifications, diagrams and charts to provide direction to developers Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications. Assist in developing Requests for Proposals (RFP) Develops functional and non- functional specification documents, flow charts, business cases, and feasibility study and system design specifications for client engagements Strategic Analysis is an advanced Business Analyst skillset. This skill involves the ability to help direct tasks such as the reengineering of a business process. The financial analyst position in accounting and audit services demands following skills and qualifications.
A Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA/ MBA preferred. Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Knowledge of Statutory accounting principles.
