Fusion Cloud Operations, a global business unit focuses providing maximum availability of Fusion cloud customer environments hosted on Oracle Public Cloud Infrastructure.
As a member of the Cloud Operations organization, focus is to resolve issues with high priority towards maintaining Uptime SLAs and maintaining MTTR. This involves resolving technical issues and troubleshooting.
The Oracle Public Cloud is a suite of Oracle applications, middleware and database offerings delivered in a self-service, subscription-based, elastically scalable, reliable, highly available and secure manner. These services comprise the Application Services (Oracle Fusion CRM Cloud Service, Oracle Fusion HCM Cloud Service, and Oracle Fusion GSI Cloud Service). The Oracle Public Cloud is an enterprise cloud for business. It is an integrated suite of services spanning Oracle%26#39;s complete portfolio based on open Java and SQL standards offering flexible cloud and on-premise deployment. The services offered in our cloud are based upon Oracle%26#39;s complete portfolio of best-in-class solutions. As part of Oracle Public Cloud operations, we consolidate and simplify IT operations and application instances across hosted services in Oracle and maximize the return to Oracle to the customers. We partner with engineering to develop product modules to enable them to be offered as a service. We collaborate with product quality assurance team to run minimum test cases and to ensure high quality service after release of product versions. Database Administrator – Job Description
The successful candidate will be offered position for this opportunity at Hyderabad location. The team%26rsquo;s main responsibility is to troubleshoot highly complex technical issues related to the Oracle Databases hosted on Exadata machines and within areas like Real Application Clusters, High Availability, Data Guard, Fixing Corruptions, Backup and Recovery, RMAN, Troubleshooting Performance Issues, Memory Management, ASM, Security, Networking, Enterprise Manager etc. The selected candidates are expected to support thousands of Databases hosted on thousands of Exadata servers. The selected candidate will have opportunities to become an Expert/Guru on Database/Exadata technologies. The candidate will be widely regarded as a subject matter expert in their current role and will demonstrate the ability to resolve complex problems or identify acceptable workarounds. He/She should be able to perform their assigned duties with a great degree of independence requiring minimal direction. The Engineer is expected to be a key member of the technical problem solving as well as problem avoidance team, routinely sought after to address extremely complex, critical customer issues.
- Minimum 8 Years of experience as an Oracle Database Engineer/DBA
- Very thorough and clear understanding of Oracle Database Architecture – including the latest versions of Oracle (11g/12c/19c).
- Extensive knowledge and solid troubleshooting experience in the following areas:
- RAC, ASM, Exadata, Performance tuning, Data Guard (Physical and Logical), Active data guard and DG broker, RMAN.
- Experience in handling complex database recovery scenarios.
- Experience in Golden Gate and Exadata is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure – quick thinking and remaining calm during stressful situations.
- Willingness to work in shifts and on weekends.
- Ability to quickly grasp complex technical issues.
- Appetite to learn new technologies and constantly improve technical skills.
- Support the Cloud service by identifying the cause of customer or system escalations and by independently resolving all the issues related to the Oracle database 12c/19c.
- Mentor, train and coach the junior DBAs in the team in isolating the issue, identifying the probable causes of the issue and solving the issue.
- Collaborate with Fusion Application Support team, Fusion Development organizations, Global Information Technology team, LCM Team, Infrastructure, Storage and Network teams to minimize the occurrence of the issues, proactively identify the issues before the customers identify them, enhance the performance of the application and keep the database highly available.

As a member of the IT organization, assist with the analyze of existing complex programs and formulate logic for new complex internal systems. Prepare flowcharting, perform coding, and test/debug programs. Develop conversion and system implementation plans. Recommend changes to development, maintenance, and system standards.
Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. BS or equivalent experience in programming on enterprise or department servers or systems.
