We are currently seeking a Database Administration Specialist to join our team in Hyderabad, Telangana (IN-TG), India (IN).
NTT DATA, Inc. currently seeks a ‘MS SQL Server Database Administrator’ to join our team in ‘Bangalore, Karnataka’.
Client’s business problem to solve
Support the complete database environment.
Position’s General Duties and Tasks
Evaluates and recommends the purchase and utilization of technologies such as servers, extract and tools, metadata management, securitytools and archival and recovery tools and data access.
Diagnoses, resolves and implements preventive measures to prevent problems for applications and system software.
Designs data storage and management processes for specific data warehouse projects.
Recommends and oversees implementation of system level configuration modifications to optimize performance.
Identifies opportunities in database arena to address future business challenges or identify process improvements.
Provides database development/project support in compliance with database design standards.
Designs and develops database systems to meet application and business requirements across multiple platforms and computingenvironments for Healthcare accounts
Provide production database support with specific focus on availability, capacity, performance, security and recoverability.
Maintain and execute SSIS/SSRS packages for database automation and cross network connectivity.
Code and maintain stored procedures and TSQL scripts – Provide support to development teams in troubleshooting the entire applicationstack.
Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations and work different shifts, including night shift.
Perform database installation, configuration, tuning, capacity planning, health checks, backups and recovery and change managementactivities in accordance with documented standards.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree
Experience:
5 to 8 years of experience administering SQL Server Database Systems in a production environment.
Demonstrated proficiency in the installation and administration of SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS and related patching.
Experience in database tuning and project support.
Experience in database server upgrades and migrations.
Experience in troubleshooting database stored procedures.
Experience working directly with business stakeholders, end users, as well as technical teams.
Has worked independently with little or no direct supervision.
Experience with for 24 /7 support needs.
Skills:
Knows fundamentals of database implementation and maintenance.
Knows basic database concepts (including configuration, modeling and security) and understands how to apply these concepts (but needsmore experienced direction).
Competent to work in more than one phase of database administration (typically documentation and maintenance).
Good oral, written and client service skills
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
