The Team
Deloitte brings an in-depth understanding of government projects at all levels-national, state, district, and local levels–gained through years of consistent service to this critical segment of our economy. It is this understanding that allows us to develop advanced thought leadership and contribute as a strategic partner in development initiatives both in the public and private sectors.
Work you’ll do
A Consultant / Senior Consultant at Deloitte is expected to contribute to the firm’s growth and development in a variety of ways, including:
- Identify the impact of key social, environmental and economic issues
- Innovatively apply sustainability concepts within the private and public sector
- Focus on review and improvement of governance, systems and reporting processes in the field of sustainability reporting
- More specifically, prepare, plan and deliver all aspects of large sustainability projects:
- Manage and support mixed Deloitte and client teams
- Work with client resources to learn about their organization, operations and requirements
- Analyze issues identified and develop an approach to manage and solve these issues proactively
- Develop a tailored approach enabling a successful implementation and sustained results
- Develop long-term, qualitative working relations with your clients
- Support internal practice development (training, research and team building) and contribute to thought leadership
Soft Skills
- Ability to build and drive relationships through objective communication
- Strong problem solving attitude with the ability to visualize scenarios, possible outcomes & operating constraints
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, strong interpersonal skills and a good team player.
- Demonstrated ability to lead by influence, including the delivery of cross functional and transformation projects
- Ability to empathize with stakeholders and to work within demanding deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to make impactful presentations & expertise at using excel & PPTs
- Passionate, sincere, result oriented
Qualifications
- Excellent education background with post-graduation in Management / Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Consulting / advisory / managerial experience 1- 4 years experience in a similar role
- Significant experience within organizations in the public or private sector (good knowledge of structure, governance, policy-making, corporate operating models, key business drivers and operations issues)
- A good knowledge of concepts and policy options in one or more of the following sub-areas: sustainability assurance, audit, reporting, climate change, GHG and Carbon technical experience in the climate change, environment, health & safety, energy efficiency (e.g. GIS mapping, GHG accounting) is an advantage
- A deep understanding of processes for in-depth discussions with clients on their environmental reporting
- Effective business communication (written and oral) skills are a critical requirement and the individual must be able to interact effectively with other members of the team as well as the client
- Problem-solving capabilities and an attitude to leverage resources to best solve / address the task at hand
- Report writing and PowerPoint development skills
- Ability to lead, manage and develop teams / members
- Willingness to travel and adaptability to change
