This position is part of PayPal’s TPX organization. We deliver a seamlessly scalable, exceptionally efficient, highly reliable infrastructure and services platform in a hybrid cloud environment. The infrastructure engineering team designs, delivers and operates large-scale private and public cloud infrastructure for PayPal development and production environments. This is one of the largest hybrid cloud infrastructures in the world and runs on multiple technology stacks. Global Network Services team responsible for architecture, design, and develop global network to enable PayPal to serve customers in 200 countries across the globe. We are the team responsible to deliver global network footprint to deliver uninterrupted services to our customers. As part of our next generation network transformation journey we are seeking seasoned, passionate, and multi-faucet candidate to join the Global Network Services team at PayPal.
Job Responsibilities:
•Â Participate and lead network design/architecture for On-prem to Public cloud migration.Â
•Â Design and build hybrid connectivity between on-prem and public clouds with advanced knowledge of interconnectivity options.Â
•Â Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business unit leadership in developing project objectives and timelines.Â
•Â Participate and own the delivery from Network teamÂfor PayPal’s infrastructure organic growth and business requirements.ÂÂ
•Â Drive detailed definition of feature requirements through discussions with product managers and customers.Â
•Â Work with vendors, clients, carriers and technical staff on network implementation, optimization, and ongoing network management.Â
•Â Produce work breakdown structures & plan to execute complex network changes, migrations, and upgrades to avoid any service impact.Â
•Â Create and define network engineering best practices, documentation, and building MOPÂ&ÂSOP.Â
•Â Interface with internal teams, customers, and partnersÂ
•Â Troubleshoot internal/external connectivity issues.Â
•Â Take ownership forÂnetwork incident, outages, escalations and deep diving to find the root cause and prevention plan.Â
•Â Review network capacity and develop plan to meet current and future demand.Â
•Â Provide high-level support and technical expertise in networking technology, including LAN/WAN hardware, routers, switches and firewallsÂ
•Â A Positive ‘can do’ attitude with the ability to articulate thoughts and ideas and see them to fruition.Â
JobÂRequirements:-Â
•Â 5+Âyears of Network experience in managingÂlarge scaleÂglobal networks, preferable financial networks space.Â
•Â Experience with one of the Public Cloud network Environments – AWS/ GCP/Azure.Â
•Â Requires in-depth knowledge of cloud network engineering.Â
•Â Deep understanding of AWS/GCP/AZUREÂservices like VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateways, VPN.Â
•Â Hands on experienceÂinÂimplementing Cloud routing & Hybrid Interconnectivity Architecture.Â
•Â Prior experience with setting up Transit VPCs and Transit Gateways.Â
•Â Deep working knowledge of networking technologies including Layer-2, Layer-3 protocols (TCP/IP,ÂBGP, OSPF/IS-IS, MPLS)Âand network virtualization (VRF).Â
•Â Hands-On experience configuringÂCisco,ÂJuniper network routing and switching devices.Â
•Â Experience inÂinterfacing withÂcarriers forÂpeering, circuit delivery,Âtroubleshooting and migration.Â
•Â Experience inÂnetwork design, operations and troubleshooting methodologiesÂ
•Â Understand of AWS/GCPÂsecurity best practicesÂ
•Â AWS orÂGCPÂNetworkÂspecialtyÂcertification is a huge plusÂ
•Â Automation & scripting Experience preferably in PythonÂand TerraformÂ
•Â Bachelor’s in computer networks/Science or relevant technical fieldÂ
