Citrix Engineer, Principal
The Citrix Engineer – Principal works at the strategic level and is responsible for the leadership and management efforts involved in resolution of complex interrelated business and technical issues associated with the information systems. The strategic elements of this position require analytical skills to assist in defining business requirements and help the business develop technical solutions. This may include developing business models, systems to meet the global information needs of the business, developing and proposing architectural standards and performing technical feasibility studies. Incumbents at this level evaluate and review IT software and systems, and prepare evaluation reports, which are reviewed with business technical management. In addition, incumbents provide a key role in defining and resolving system performance, data and architecture issues as well as planning and participating in major system installations.
Required Credentials:
Citrix Certified Enterprise Engineer (CCEE) certification.
Preferred:
Current Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
Citrix Certified Integration Architect (CCIA) certification.
At least four (5) years hands on experience with Server or Desktop virtualization.
Minimum Experience
At least ten (10) years’ experience in Citrix Engineering technologies
At least four (5) years hands on experience with Server or Desktop virtualization.
Minimum ten (10) years hands on Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop experience
Minimum of 5 years as a senior level Citrix Engineer
Minimum five (5) years experience managing various Citrix infrastructures, with progressive increase in responsibility.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Expert knowledge of, and hands on experience designing and deploying Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop environments
Expert knowledge of, and hands on experience designing and deploying application packaging, streaming and deployment into XenApp, XenDesktop or traditional desktop space adhering to standard release processes
Knowledge of, and hands on experience deploying and supporting Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and 2012 operating systems
Knowledge of server Vmware
Expert knowledge of Citrix specific areas of Active Directory and Group Policy structure
Knowledge of change control policies
Knowledge and understanding of integrating systems into the current network environment
Familiarity with diagnostic and administrative tools
Working knowledge of project management processes and procedures
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze possible solutions using standard procedures
Effective communication/interpersonal skills
Effective customer service skills
Able to solve a wide range of problems and analyze/assess possible solutions using standard procedures.
Able to respond to non-standard requests from internal and/or external customers and investigate to identify possible solutions
