Risk and Control Objective

The Change Management process exists to protect the Global IT production environment from uncontrolled or unapproved change, minimising the risk of disruption or outage to IT Services and the potential financial, regulatory or reputational damage that might ensue as a result. Adherence to the Change Management Standard and Process is mandatory and applies to all employees across Barclays Technology.
The role owner will take on responsibility for supporting and managing the delivery of Change for BUK and Change impacting BUK from other business clusters within Barclays. They will work with colleagues at all levels to perform Change Management, as well as provide consultancy, training, guidance and support.
What will you be doing

  • Utilising and developing skills in managing the successful delivery of Change through applying appropriate control, management and governance via the Change Process.
  • Identifying and leading continuous improvements to ensure an efficient and effective Change process whilst maintaining the rigour and governance required ensuring protection and stability of Service.
  • Provide Change and Management consultancy to customers and stakeholders a required, specifically focusing on the support of the business cluster to which the role is aligned.
  • Participate within the Barclays Technical Services Office and beyond as an excellent team player and role model for good practice
  • Chair Change Advisory Boards and other critical forums visible to senior management
  • Provide accurate and validated management information targeted at stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to work independently as well as within teams, making decision when empowered to do so
  • Follow-up on failed change and unauthorised changes as per Barclays Change standard.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience of working in a team environment.
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels – both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to coach others
  • A general understanding of the internal and external Information Technology environment related to Barclays PLC
  • Good working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications allowing the ability to provide clear, accurate and insightful Management Information

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • ITIL foundation certificate – Preferred
  • Understanding of Barclays Incident, Problem and Change and Release processes.
  • Proven ability to work under own initiative
