Global Business Services (GBS) is ABB’s shared services organization which delivers operational and expert services in Finance, Human Resources, Information Systems, Legal, Global Travel Services and external Customer Contact Centers. With employees based in five main hubs and front offices, GBS provides mainly Business services to ABB teams across the globe as well as supports with external customer inquiries. This is a Business Intelligence Specialist role, reporting to the Planning & Controlling Manager COE in the Global Business Services which is in Bangalore, India. As a BI Specialist you will assume the responsibility for designing and developing data visualization solutions using Power BI as the tool-of-choice.Your responsibilities
- Developing and implementing BI through working in Agile teams, working with finance and business teams to gather and analyze requirements, coming up with effective solutions based on available options.
- Providing business application analysis and data modelling design to collect, standardize, maintain, monitor and audit business data for effective centralized data warehouse, creating interactive dashboards and reports through Power BI and other BI tools.
- Supporting acceptance, governance, resource management and performance of the Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Warehousing (DW) applications.
- Developing and maintaining processes of automated data and using various business intelligence reporting tools to create dashboards.
- Providing coaching and training support for finance teams and business units for faster adoption of Power BI reports.
- Working in cross-functional agile scrum teams to deliver visualization dashboards.
Your background
- Degree in Analytics, Engineering, IT, Computer Science or related fields
- Minimum 5 years Business Intelligence experience, of which 3+ years in developing and implementing enterprise-scale reports and dashboards using Power BI.
- Must have working knowledge of logical and physical data modeling concepts (relational and dimensional). Hands-on experience on data visualization concepts, such as designing dashboards (wireframing) and developing reports.
- Hands-on experience in relational database, SQL and DAX scripting and tuning experience.
- Understanding of data integration (data mining, data preparation, validation and cleaning), familiarity with complex data and structures) is preferred.
- Basic knowledge on multidimensional cube (SSAS) and its compatibility with Power BI as input data source would be an added advantage.
- Experience on SAP BW, SharePoint and Agile experience a plus.
