Job Description:
Role Summary/Purpose:
Design and develop business intelligence products in Tableau – and possibly other best-in-class BI tools to be determined – to provide key insights, enable smart decision-making across the Collections and Recovery organization, and help leaders effectively manage and optimize the business.
Essential Responsibilities:

  • Engage other staff and attend meetings with stakeholders to understand business challenges and needs that can be resolved by the delivery of reports and other BI products, especially with the use of data visualization proactively propose other solutions to further enable the Collections and Recovery organization as you learn the business and identify gaps and opportunities
  • Interact with staff and stakeholders to build and prototype reports and dashboards query data from multiple data sources, including but not limited to Oracle and SQL, to produce compelling BI products that enable and change how the business operates
  • Apply best practices around data visualization and a keen knowledge of the same apply complex calculations as necessary
  • Reverse engineer legacy reports and migrate the same to Tableau, if necessary
  • Work closely with other technical resources to provide technical design recommendations on data mart structures and other back-end requirements supporting analytical applications
  • Explain to technical and non-technical people with equal effectiveness the design considerations and other challenges that, collectively, were inputs into development processes
  • Demonstrate finished BI products to users in a clear and compelling fashion so as to enable high utilization
  • Stay current with enabling technologies and work as a partner to promote their use
  • Test, troubleshoot, support, and fix BI products in development or in production
  • Train other Hyderabad staff in the best practices of Tableau and data visualization, when necessary
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in business intelligence
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience with BI applications, especially Tableau (2+ years – recent versions up to and including 2020.1.7) other BI tools and technologies, query and reporting, online analytical processing, statistical analysis, forecasting, data mining, and data visualization
  • 3+ years of experience with tools, facilities, and techniques for managing and administering data
  • 3+ years of SQL experience, Toad, and other data extraction tools
  • 3+ years with Microsoft Office

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills must be able to work with and communicate across many functional organizations and levels, technical and non-technical
  • Previous experience with SAP Business Objects (Webi Intelligence and Crystal)
  • Previous experience with large amounts of data and big data technology stack
  • Previous experience with Sharepoint, JIRA, R, and/or Python
  • Previous experience with Agile development
  • Previous experience in retail finance or financial services
