Distribution Centre (DC) Bangalore manage Service Market Business supporting all Volvo Group business in the Region including Volvo CE, Volvo Group Trucks, Volvo Bus and Volvo Penta. The primary interface with these entities is through Sales and Marketing’s Aftermarket Commercial function.

This Business Controller is responsible for Business and financial Operations of Service Market Logistics in India. The person will perform financial planning, analysis, design, implement overall business plans by working with local & regional teams and deliver on financial performance in a complaint way.
Needs to protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls. Guides financial decisions by conducting regular audits and providing information to external auditors
The Business Controller is a leadership role & will report to the Director of Distribution Centre Bangalore.

Position Description

The Business Controller is a leadership role & will report to the Director of Distribution Centre Bangalore.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Analyze & validate all financial facts and figures in operations for decision making. Ensure that the financial consequences are well understood by decision makers, the Volvo Group Financial Policies and Procedures are followed.
- Analysis of budget Vs actuals monthly operational results & update Operational team & DC Director. Ensure strict adherence to budgets & drive cost reduction & control initiatives within Operational teams. Review of monthly operational results in terms of Opex & present the financial results in the monthly Executive Management meetings.
- Support Manager with all financial facts & figures, justifications, cost proposals & analysis, make or buy decisions, Inventory management and provisioning, contingency planning to ensure that the strategies and goals are well aligned within the OD/VPS structure and with global corporate objectives.
- Deliver quality assured and timely operational reporting, future estimates and projections.
- Ensure that Operating Cost reporting requirements are met for Standard Cost of Sales.
- Adherence to all internal control procedures, audit co ordinations , represent DC Bangalore in the finance committee of Volvo India and meet specific job requirements of Volvo India’s corporate requirements with high level of integrity.
- Month closure of financial books in terms of review, timelines & accuracy of all inputs related to closing Inventory, surcharge, monthly provisions & adequacy, invoicing etc. sent to ACC for accounting.
- Bring process improvements in the areas of receivables and payables.
- Drive strong internal control procedures & ensure compliances and adherences as Volvo’s internal control and accounting policies. Frame the authorization policies in line with Central & local requisites.
- Year end audit co-ordinations and support and address all audit queries for statutory audit. Support, coordinate & complete all other external audits related to fixed assets, VAT and other tax audits etc.
- Support Operational Managers with all financial requirements for inputs required by Government & other Taxation authorities like DRI, Excise, customs etc.
- Monitor & review Inventory to tap excess inventory levels and ensure adequate NRV & inventory provisions. Periodic review and yearly scrapping of parts in discussion with Manager.
- Work with Process & IT for driving digitalization & process improvements.

Qualifications
- Master Degree in Finance / Commerce or Bachelor’s degree in a business related field or equivalent education
- Minimum of 3 years experience in Aftermarket and around 10 years of overall / related experience in Management, Business Control, or related fields
- Demonstrated strong abilities in Leadership competencies
- Skilled in SAP and other ERP Systems related to Supply Chain Management
- Knowledge of Volvo Production Systems, Lean Principles and Cost Deployment
- Very good English proficiency is required in both written and verbal.
- Must be proficient in MS Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Position Location: Bangalore (Hosakote) Occasional travelling will be required.
