Business Analyst

  • Requirements Gathering and Functional Design for High Value/Low value Bulk and Instant Payments
  • Define and deliver Business Requirements
  • Translate Business requirements to Functional/Interface Requirements for Vendor as well as Internal Barclays Landscape teams
  • Review and participate in the Functional Solution
  • Maintain requirements / analysis traceability from design deliverables to business requirements.
  • Experience in development of functional analysis deliverables from Business Requirements (BRDs):
  • High level application functional specifications,
  • Detailed interface requirements,
  • System business flows.
  • Impact Analysis
  • System / interface / business rule catalogues,
  • volumetric / usage profiles & forecasts and its impacts,
  • process / user mappings,
  • High level User Interface storyboards,
  • Understanding of the detail design of the functional requirements.
  • Coordinate meetings and discussions with stakeholders and team members
  • Conduct walk-through of recommended system functionality and prototypes with stakeholders

What will you be doing
Relevant Experience 6 to 10 years.
Note: The Internal Eligible Candidates must have completed 12 months in the existing Role.
Time Split: 80% Project Delivery, 20% Non-Core Delivery.

  • Requirement study for arriving at set of functional documents
  • Experience in development of functional analysis deliverables from Business Requirements (BRDs)
  • Delivery of Functional and Interface design artefacts, Interface Catalogues, Query clarification for stakeholder teams like Development, Test, OPS and Configuration. Be part of Production Incident resolution, suggest workarounds and ensure that all designs delivered are in line with Target Architecture roadmap
  • Inputs to the functional detailed design document creation.
  • Act as a communication bridge between Business/OPS and Technical teams
  • Manage Review and Sign-Offs from business stakeholders as well as other team in program.
  • Build a knowledge base of the application within the organization.
  • Sufficient technical depth to discuss designs with Technical / Infrastructure designers and data architects.

What we’re looking for:

  • Very strong Payments knowledge from a business, operational and technology perspective
  • Strong knowledge of e2e payment life cycle and workflows
  • Strong BA skills/experience
  • Knowledge / experience of payment applications and utilities:
  • GPP – Global Pay Plus
  • Mass Payments
  • Understanding of Payments processing and the various message formats like SWIFT MT, ISO20022, and EDIFACT.
  • Understanding of Payments High Value and low value payments system
  • Working knowledge of UK/EU clearing system e.g. CHAPS, TARGET2, EURO1, SEPA CT, SEPA DD, BACS, FPS.
  • Experience of detailed design through production of FRDs (Functional Requirements Definition) and IRDs (Interface Requirements Definition.
    • Awareness about industry/regulatory changes and the impact thereof
    • Team player with strong communications skills
  • Stakeholder management including working with business owners and external stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritise, understand value and work with the product owner to align project delivery priorities with business priorities
  • An engineering degree (BE/BTech) from reputed university or equivalent (e.g. BCS, MCS etc.) with first class aggregate

  • Experience in Agile methodologies and artefacts like user story, Kanban board etc
  • Hands-on exposure on common tools such as Jira, Rally and/or devops/automation tools
  • Cross functional/technical skills (Technology skills in development & Test automation)
