The incumbent will undertake a range of activities, including, but not limited to, the following:
.Assists in business analysis of the various deliverables of the project and for documenting institutional memory in the form of Epic and user stories
.Monitoring the issues that arise in UAT and communicating with the technical team to resolve the issues
.Documenting systemic issues on the business side and identifying a solution
.Assists in screening all text submitted for publication in order to ensure compliance with submission standards and regulations and to ensure a timely publication in all six official languages of the United Nations.
.Monitors verifies accuracy for incoming and outgoing texts in the Journal e-mail for initial translation to French and informs supervisor of technical problems or concerns for the translation.
.Assists and inform of incoming elements and tracking the workflow format the elements and keeps all concerned informed of changes in processing schedules and transmits corrections made by author departments/divisions to texts in process.
.Reviews and devises workflows in English and French, following editing rules, terminology bulletins, and guidelines using eLuna, ODS, dtSearch, and UNTERM.
.Provides reference assistance to the team
.Maintains the Unit’s reference collection of documents, publications and other reference materials, including special databases in the shared file system for easy reference.
.Provides basic computer technical support to all staff in the Unit performs basic troubleshooting functions in a timely manner maintains contact with Business Analysis Section (BAS) and reports problems to the BAS Journal Support Team when required.
.Performs general office support functions including managing users of the Journal and take minutes of the meetings held by the Project team.
.Carries out other tasks requested by the Project Manager.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Work experience:
Experience in business analysis for a multilingual content management system is required.
Experience with online search desirable.
Experience in social media tools desirable.
Experience in providing a reference or technical support to language staff and understanding the challenges that multilingualism brings to technical solutions is required.
Languages:
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. fluency in French and English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable
