The Data Management AVP role is integral role to the overall Data strategy within Financial Control. The role will focus on working with specific Finance line teams, CDO & Technology to identify, document and provide guidance on Data Quality Management for Finance related Critical Data Elements (CDEs), Data Quality Controls, Data Quality Issues, Data Quality Measures etc. The person will be responsible to ensure that Finance is compliant with all Data Management Standards and any risks or concerns are appropriately identified and escalated.
What will you be doing
- Support overall Data Management agenda for Finance
- Support management of metadata and attestation that may be required yearly
- Drive DQ issue management in compliance with Group Data Management policies and standards. Ensure DQ measures are getting logged in central tool for either DQ issues or Critical Data Elements. Measure actuals are provided on time to CDO by working with Finance Line teams
- Ensure Data Lineage is maintained as per Group Data Management policies and standards and any changes are adhering to change management requirements
- Ensure ADS are identified and changes are worked with Data Architecture teams for remediation
- DQ controls are identified and maintained in accordance with Group Data Management policies and standards
- Maintain catalogue of reference material/training packs to facilitate data management
- Support monthly Data Forums and Council meetings preparations packs
- Work closely with CDO via meeting/workshops to progress data agenda
- Support MIS on DQ issues, Measures, Controls etc as and when required
- Escalate issues through the VP reporting line to Group Data Councils and assist in the remediation
- Support any data attestation activity that may come up during the year
- Support on closure of any Audit related requirements
What we’re looking for
- Excellent Communication Skills (not just peers by senior stakeholders as well)
- Post Graduate (Finance MBA/PGDM preferred) with basic accounting/standards related information
- Understanding of Data management concepts and principles and similar constructs in the banks
- Understanding of Finance functions within banking industry
- Understanding of trade lifecycles(Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office)
- Excellent MS-Office skills, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word, MS Project and Visio skills
- Experience of working with distributed teams
- Experience in delivery and Project Management
Skills that will help you in the role
- Understanding of BCBS239/CCAR and similar Data Management guidelines
- Understanding relational databases, risk systems / architecture
- Knowledge of Project Lifecycle methods (e.g. Software Development Lifecycle, Agile) and understanding of the principles and frameworks of successful project management
