The Role Responsibilities
Process

  • Supervise the timely production of Corporate Finance and Loan Syndications P&L reporting for SCB. The main products controlled are Loan Syndications, Leveraged Finance, Aviation and Shipping Leases, M&A advisory etc
  • Responsible for the delivery of work streams in the Corporate Finance and Loan Syndications space and be an active participant and drive projects for Corporate Finance and Loan Syndications PC.
  • Role involved identifying the associated risks, with an intimate understanding of boundaries of product controlling
  • Reviewing significant deals completed by the CF/LS desks across various sub products and identifying risk associated with the said facilities
  • Performance of month end accounting processes including adjustment journals, ensuring reconciliation between accounting platform and various sub ledgers, substantiation of account balances, etc. so as to ensure accuracy and completeness in finalisation of financial information.
  • Ensuring adherence and improving upon timelines with respect to internal guidelines and policies on various periodical reporting submissions
  • Understanding and analysis of Risk Weighted Assets where required
  • Monitoring of fee receivables and suspended fees where required
  • Monitoring of stick positions where required
  • Take responsibility for the quality of work submitted and ensure that the highest standards are maintained by self and the team
  • Ensure adherence to SLA’s, KPI’s , Internal metrics
  • Identify/ manage risk and control breakdowns
  • Develop & Maintain effective and standard processes
  • Support change project initiatives and conduct User Acceptance Testing for enhancements to current systems or migration to new system

Stakeholder Management

  • Regular face off with Traders, Product Control Management, Regional finance team and various internal stakeholders within GFS, GIA/ External audit team
  • Act as a point of reference for team members and internal clients
  • Manage relationship with internal stakeholders, take regular feedback, anticipate and understand issues and escalate appropriately for timely resolution
  • Manage strong relationship with support teams (IT, Operations and Risk) and bring synergies by interacting and integrating with cross functional teams

People Management

  • Maintaining a pleasant workplace environment which is motivating and enables high performance within team.
  • Monitoring people performance, providing timely feedback, performing annual and mid-year appraisals (including people development, pipeline/skills monitoring, and training programs)
  • Manage leaves and attrition, create sufficient backup / cross trainings
  • Minimize dependency on key people by cross training
  • Manage career and growth expectations of people
  • Leverage upon knowledge and skills sitting with other teams at same location or similar team sitting across the globe
  • Enable movement of people as and when required to manage resourcing across Product Control

  • Chartered Accountant or equivalent qualification

You are an experienced person in financial services and exposure to Trading desks, Product Control Management, Regional finance team and various internal stakeholders.We want to hear from you if you have:

  • MBA, CA, CFA, ACCA qualification
  • 9+ years of relevant experience
  • 2+ years of People Management experience
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage teams
  • Control mindset and ability to identify and mitigate and control gaps
  • Good understanding of financial market products
  • Ability to develop, implement and maintain effective and standard operational processes.
  • Excellent people and resource management skills
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills. Should be able to communicate at all levels
  • Strong planning, negotiation and analytical skills
  • Excellent business writing and verbal English communication skills
  • Ready to travel & work in shifts
