Role:
The Associate within this function will have responsibility for the financial integrity, analysis and reporting for one or more legal entities.
Key Responsibilities
The applicant will have the following key responsibilities:
- Work with appropriate financial and operational groups to provide value added financial analysis (e.g. revenues, expenses, balance sheet etc.) to management, including the Board of Directors where appropriate;
- Monthly review of the legal entity results to ensure all drivers of the income statement and balance sheet are understood and evidenced by production of a month end reporting package;
- Provide input into the monthly forecast process by providing accurate flash results prior to the month end;
- Calculate and record financial information within the General Ledger in relation to key revenues, expenses and balance sheet accounts;
- Liaise with colleagues across J.P. Morgan lines of business, both internally and internationally, in the computation and control of transfer pricing arrangements;
- Production of statutory accounts together with appropriate working papers to a high degree of accuracy and timeliness;
- Produce consolidation packs for legal entities to facilitate the statutory consolidation process.
- Liaise with the regulatory team on regulatory returns in preparation for senior management review prior to submission to the regulator.
- Balance sheet reconciliation – responsibility for ensuring all accounts are fully reconciled and reported to the AM Control Group.
- Controls – Interpretation & implementation of Corporate Accounting Policies, Quarterly review & substantiation of the allocated geneal ledger accounts
- Seamless delivery of daily, monthly, quarterly or any other deliverables of LEC agenda. The individual is expected to provide day to day direction to the team locally and be responsible to oversee/review/perform as applicable the key responsibilities of the team
- The role will be tilted more towards individual contribution work in addition to team handling responsibilitites and supervise their tasks.
Experience & Qualifications:
· AAT/ CPA/ MBA/ CA or equivalent qualified having accounting / legal entity controller experience of 4-8 years
· Financial and Management Accounting skill set
· US GAAP, UK GAAP and IFRS working knowledge would be preferable
· Good analytical skills
· Demonstrates active support for LEC decisions
· Strong control mind-set
· Excellent communication skills;
· Excellent organisational skills; Manages & prioritizes multiple tasks across different time horizons within deadlines
· Strong PC skills (Excel and Word);
· Strong team player;
· Ability to carry out complex tasks under considerable time pressure, whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality;
· Understanding of general ledger control and performance of financial reconciliations required;
· Understanding of statutory accounts prep and audit file preparation required.
· Knowledge of SAP/ GL platforms used in J.P. Morgan Chase would be an advantage
Position will be based out of Bengaluru and will involve working in APAC/ EMEA/ US shift as per allocation to region
