As an Associate Principal Research Analyst aligned with the Supply Chain Technologies Team, you will focus on Sourcing and Procurement technologies worldwide. You will help supply chain leaders and heads of Sourcing and Procurement: identify and select software and emerging technologies, understand the market landscape, prioritize investments, evaluate vendors, determine best-fit, and deploy best practices. You will deliver advice, and guidance to our research and advisory clients through published research, conversations with clients (Inquiry), teleconferences, and client meetings.
What You’ll Do
- Define and conduct research in specific areas and create specified volumes of written documentation of research, to set timelines.
- Networking with Gartner clients, vendors and analysts, evaluating and analyzing information and participating in Research Meetings and other primary or secondary research methods which comprise the Gartner research process.
- Produce impactful written analysis for our client constituency. Specialize analysis and advice to industry / role-specific research as necessary.
- Provide actionable advice over client interactions for your coverage areas via teleconference, video conference or webinar and event presentations.
- Provide support to the sales organization to renew and develop business. Advice prospective and existing clients via telephone and video-enabled teleconference or at Gartner events. Demonstrate Gartner research value.
What You’ll Need
- Graduate + MBA from leading A & B-schools (BE/B.Tech from Grade A engineering colleges (will be added advantage)
- Subject matter familiarity with the Sourcing and Procurement function and specifically the technology products and business trends that influence these functions.
- You will be familiar with the Sourcing and Procurement capabilities of some of the following vendors: SAP, Oracle, Coupa, E2open, JAGGAER, GEP, Ivalua, Apex Analytix, Riskmethods, Resilinc, and Scoutbee. This is NOT a complete list, familiarity with other vendors capabilities is welcomed.
- An understanding of emerging and strategic technologies such as AI, machine learning, RPA, advanced analytics and their impacts on the sourcing and procurement software market landscape would be beneficial.
- Familiarity in the System Development Lifecycle from needs identification, through to selection, implementation, use and possibly also decommissioning/migration.
- 3-5 years of experience in a Sourcing and Procurement function or allied IT role. Perhaps you are a Solutions Architect, Technical Architect, Business Analyst, super-user or are in a research, consulting, or technology related role in a Sourcing and Procurement focused technology vendor or System Integrator.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
