Assistant finance controller Gurugram, Haryana, India
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced finance professional to focus on a broad range of Financial accounting, reporting, and operations, Critical analysis and Cost control, MIS reporting, working capital management, Risk and internal control framework, Team building, Process transformation .
What you will be doing:
o Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate accounting principles and regulatory requirements. Ensure underlying accounting records are accurate, complete and in accordance with GAAP. o Review monthly financial reports for accuracy, completeness and major variances between actual and budget results
o Drive operational efficiency by monitoring and improving costing activities and data accuracy. Identify saving initiatives and leverage economies of scale.
o Manage cash flow and forecasting by developing a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
o Oversee and approve financial transactions and reconciliations, ensuring that robust controls are in operation and workloads are managed effectively
o Lead financial compliance, ensuring that all procedures and policies are business focused and communicated effectively to relevant stakeholders. Ensuring that finance activities are compliant with internal/external financial policies and regulations
- Regulatory and statutory compliances
o Build a strong internal and external Audit Framework for the Group. Own all audit activities to ensure seamless audits across geographies
o Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
o Ensure risk identification, escalation, investigation and mitigation
o Mange and responsible for all the statutory , internal and group audits .
- Year end and month end reporting
o Close the month end reporting in line with the global timelines
o Ensure the timely reporting the month end results in the consolidation system (OneStream)
o Work closely with local FPA team for the accurate reporting of the India numbers to the management.
o Manage the inter company reconciliations.
- Tax and Regulatory Statutory compliance
o Responsible for all Direct Tax and Indirect Tax compliance & reporting which includes IT returns, Tax provisioning, Tax Audits, DTA/DTL, e-tds returns, Transfer Pricing, Equalisation Levy, Goods & Service Tax (GST),
o Involved in tax structuring, building up taxation team and reporting, appointment of best consultant to manage our tax compliance and litigation
o Handling Income Tax, Service Tax, GST, Sales Tax, assessments, filed submissions in response to the requisitions of the tax officers and assisted directors by researching, drafting and filing tax appeals when summoned by Commissioner and Tax Appeal Tribunals
o Liaising with senior management, lawyers, consultant and clients to ensure proper lines of communication critical in addressing a myriad of problems and issues requiring immediate attention and providing immediate resolution
o Take care of annual closing entailing preparation of annual financial statement as per Indian GAAP, 3CD, 3CEB, filing of ITR and annual report with ROC.
- Finance transformation /Automation
o Lead all the finance transformation project for India .
o Assessment, blueprinting, designing, implementation of any process efficiency via digital to process transformation.
o Provide effective management and leadership to the finance team, and conduct performance and development reviews of staff managed, to ensure motivated performance, high quality service delivery and achievement of the business plan./
o Develop and maintain a continuous improvement culture, focusing on efficient ways of working for both current and new processes.
o At Olx, we recently implemented a new financial planning & reporting tool (Anaplan & Onestream)
o You will be expected to learn these systems and gain a full working knowledge of these tools
o You will also work with country teams and central FP&A team to articulate changes in
the planning tool which will be provided as inputs to FiT team
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor of Accountancy or CA equivalent
- 13-14 years post qualification experiences
- Knowledge of accounting standards (India, International and US GAAP) and tax requirements
- Experience in using ERP and other accounting systems and reporting packages
- Experience of working with financial planning tools (Cognos, HFM, SAP, Anaplan, Onestream)
- Excellent analytical skills: Able to structure and process qualitative and quantitative data and
draw insightful conclusions - Attention to details and strong hold on numbers. Ability to plan, organize, schedule and drive projects
Experience of reviewing financial data & identifying errors - Ability to prioritise and effective time management skills
- Ability to communicate fluently in English (both written & conversational)
- Experience in multiple stakeholder management. Proven ability to build relationships and communicate with peers, subordinates, executive management & other critical stakeholders
