Title: Active Directory / Powershell
Location: East Syracuse, NY 13057
Role Overview:This position will be responsible for the sustaining support of the Carrier Active Directory environment and global Active Directory migration projects.
Subject matter expertise and ability to communicate effectively will be key qualities as we maximize the benefits associated with the consumer driven technologies that are rapidly becoming available in the enterprise marketplace.
Essential Responsibilities
- Interface with business representatives to develop the active directory migration strategy, project, and implementation plan to migrate all Carrier users, applications, and other infrastructure assets to target domains
- Work as an escalation point for other team members
- Identify opportunities to drive efficiency and optimization where possible.
- Maintain all infrastructure services related to and contained in the Active Directory infrastructure, including but not limited to
- Sites & services
- Trust relationships
- OU structure
- Schema
- DNS
- Responsible for the architecture and support of the global backup and recovery of Active Directory
- Coordinate with DT team on implementation of Active Directory management and support tools.
- Work with Corporate IT lines of service leads to ensure foundational support for Active Directory Services in the areas of network, security, end-user, and collaborative technologies.
- Plan, design, implement and manage multiple technology projects to support business requirements.
- Manage hybrid cloud deployments with Microsoft Azure Active Directory and associated management tools.
- Active Directory domain migration experience; preferably experience migrating large amounts of users out of multiple legacy domains to one common domain structure.
- Establish and cultivate relationships with suppliers of strategic information technology products and/or services.
- Support the development and implementation of policies and procedures for Active Directory and Hosting Services.
Education / Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or related business discipline(s). Master’s Degree a plus.
Basic Qualifications
- 5 – 8 years of experience in IT and/or IT related field
- Must be an Active Directory SME and must know Active Directory inside and out
- Strong knowledge of AD multi forest design and communications and DNS
- Senior level experience as an Active Directory systems engineer
- Comprehensive background in managing Windows server and workstation-based operating systems (including Windows 2003-2016) via Active Directory Group Policy.
- Strong experience in the upgrade/maintenance of all facets of a large/enterprise Active Directory environment.
- Strong principal of least privilege understanding and ability to leverage technology to achieve such principal
- Working knowledge and experience with PowerShell
- Working knowledge and experience with Azure Active Directory Connect
- Working knowledge and experience with Azure AD/Azure ADDS
- Working knowledge and experience with Quest Management Tools
- Direct hands-on experience in IAM (Identity and Access Management)/RBAC (Role-Based Initiatives)
- Strong experience in AD best practices
- Must be able to work in a team environment with a can do attitude
- Must have excellent writing and communication skills, strong communicator with ability to maintain open communication with internal employees, contractors, managers, 3rd parties, and customers as needed
- Proven experience in managing a variety of IT infrastructure projects and in interfacing with business leaders. Ability to lead large, complex projects with cross-business unit project teams and suppliers.
- Ability to build and maintain customer relationships, be a team player, meet deadlines and adjust to changing priorities.
- Individual must be highly motivated, results-oriented and able to work in fast-paced environment.
