Position Summary:
The Manager, Systems Engineering leads the strategy, development and implementation of new technical designs, processes and tools meeting the goals of the organization. This leader is a key change catalyst driving continuous improvements in overall quality, cost and efficiency of the Systems Engineering team.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Systems Engineering Manager will directly and/or indirectly supervise a global team of approximately 10-15 people.
Job Responsibilities:
- Direct and lead a global team of 10-15 system engineers and requirements engineers responsible for platform development and customization of automotive DSP amplifiers for the Global market
- Define the systems engineering strategy in relation to technical designs, process, tools and execution
- Change catalyst driving continuous improvements in overall quality, cost and efficiency of the Systems Engineering team
- Lead invention of cost-effective system-level designs to satisfy customer requirements and propose them to OEMs
- Create and communicate design guidelines to improve project development timing and quality of product
- Direct systems and requirements engineers to keep project development on schedule
- Own the process and tool chain for requirements development, management, and traceability
- Direct system engineers to develop technical concepts and system architectures for quotations and new product development
- Direct requirements and systems engineers in the development and management of technical requirements specifications
- Establish department goals and monitor team performance
- Hire, coach, and develop high-performing talent ensuring success of each team member
- Establish and maintain annual department budget for equipment and resources
- Coordinate with Software, Hardware, and Mechanical engineering departments in design tradeoffs
- Contribute to global amplifier design team ensuring division-wide objectives are aligned and achieved
Basic Qualifications:
- BSEE degree
- 10+ years of experience performing detailed design of embedded real-time systems for automotive applications
- 5+ years of experience managing a product development engineering team
- Highly motivated and innovative leader providing guidance to the organization
- Ability to direct and manage complex product development projects to successful on-time completion
- In-depth knowledge of fundamental engineering principles, requirements development, and system architecture design
- Strong engineer process development background
- Experienced with product development to meet industry standards such as ASPICE or CMMI
- Proven track record of designing complex electronics systems
- Extensive direct interaction with customers
- Effective interpersonal skills with OEMs, peers, global teams and industry forums
- Experience working in both small and large organizations
- Desire to maintain skills and master new technologies
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to speak comfortably, clearly and confidently in front of an audience
Preferred Qualifications and Behaviors:
- MSEE, Ph.D. or MBA
- Experienced with software and/or hardware development for production products
- Results-Driven: Having a proactive, goal oriented approach to decision making.
Clear and strategic thinker; proven experience in translating strategies into actionable plans
Capable of handling multiples projects / initiatives simultaneously and executing to completion
- Team Player: Having respect for colleagues; leading teams with clarity and accountability.
Proven team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who can effectively work with all levels of a global matrixed organization
- Change Orientation: Able to adapt to changing demands and conditions.
Act as a Change Management expert and enabler on various projects and programs across the business
- Customer Focus: Providing exceptional service and quality to external and internal customer.
Understanding and working in past organizations that have centralized and de-centralized structures as business requirements change
- Self-Awareness: Accepting responsibility for personal development and actions.

- Willingness to travel at least 10% of the time.
- Willingness to work in an office.
