The Combined Graduate Level Examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission is one of the most competitive exams of our nation and lakhs of candidates graduating from various streams of study appear for the various stages of its selection process. The ratio of selection for the SSC CGL Exam is less than 1%. However, even in these odds, some candidates not only clear the exam they achieve such ranks that they are able to secure their dream posts.

For the candidates who are going to appear in the SSC CGL Exam 2024 scheduled to be conducted from 9th to 26th September 2024, we have collected some of the success stories of selected candidates. Among the various interviews that the selected candidates have conducted with the faculty of ADDA247, we are presenting five highly motivating stories of successful aspirants from which everyone can take some inspiration in accomplishing any goal in their lives.

Ayush Tiwari Tax Assistant CBDT (1st Attempt)

Belonging to a rural background and having conducted all his studies in Hindi Medium, Ayush always felt underconfident in his English skills but had nurtured the dream of securing a government job. This dream got him through his graduation as Bachelor of Arts (BA) and he started taking home tuitions to support his studies.

He decided to prepare for SSC CGL full time during the COVID 19 pandemic and focused on self studies. Keeping himself determined to achieve the goal. he followed his preparation strategy with discipline and achieved success in the form of clearing the CGL exam in his first attempt. Some of the tips from Ayush to his fellow aspirants are as follows:

  • Self-Study is the most reliable source for preparation.
  • Divide your targets into smaller goals and try to achieve them.
  • Assess yourself and your preparation on a daily basis and make necessary adjustments.
  • Keep your sources limited and do multiple revisions.
  • Focus on mock tests as a tool to learn time management in the exam.

Hitanshu Cracked SSC CGL and IBPS PO (in the same year)

Breaking the glass ceiling that separates the Baking and SSC aspirants, Hitanshu cleard both SSC CGL and IBPS PO in 2022. Inspired by his father being in government service, Hitanshu decided to prepare for government exams and got inclined to banking preparation from in the second half of 2022. Shweta Selected as Postal Assistant

Shweta, while interacting with Ashutosh Sir, recounted her memory of seeing her name in the result PDF and tears of happiness in the eyes of her family members. For her fellow aspirants, she shared some tips of preparation:

Vikas ASO, MEA (AIR 160)

Born in the Madhubani district in Bihar, Vikas graduated from College in 2018 and stated his CGL journey 2018 itself. Missing out from the merit list by a little margin, he cleared CGL 2019 and got selected as excise inspector in Nashik. He attempted CGL 2020 on short notice and managed to achieve 160th rank and got selected as ASO in MEA. Coming from a rather unprivileged background, Vikas shared some of ideas regarding the CGL preparation:

  • Work hard for your family members who always root for your success.
  • Stay away from social media and unnecessary distractions.
  • Make a proper strategy and stick to it till you achieve success.
  • Maintaining consistency and hard work is the key to success.

Bhumi IBPS PO and CGL Accountant (in same year)

Practicing offline teaching since the second year of her college, Bhumi always aspired to financially independent. This thought motivated her in preparing for government exams and she achieved success by cracking both CGL and IBPS PO in the 2022, the year of her graduation. She prepared for both exams in a mock-oriented manner. She started attempting mocks on a regular basis and assessing her performance in detail. Some of her advice to the aspirants are:

  • Identify weak areas through mock test and work on them.
  • Revising the concepts on a regular basis helps you retain the concepts for the exam.
