The Role Responsibilities
The individual in this role will need to partner closely with various business and technology teams to

  • Implement data lineage, data cataloging, and/or data policy and possess knowledge and understanding of data governance challenges and best practices for metadata, data quality, and data stewardship
  • Implement standardization in the way Data Quality (DQ) issues are managed monitored and tracked
  • Contribute towards the creation of a data analytics capability to centralize and analyze adjustments, data quality exceptions. Provide insight into inconsistencies and common themes for resolution
  • Responsible for monitoring of Capital Data Quality, DQ issues and its strategic resolution impacting RWA information as per Bank&rsquos Data Quality Management Framework.
  • Contribute towards the definition and implementation of an operating model for DQ management, resolution and escalation
  • Provide expert data analytics capability to identify and correlate DQ issues across Finance into common root cause and resolution.
  • Work with technology and business stakeholders to produce a clear data profiling across Capital.
  • Establish a cross cutting DQ platform to correlate exceptions, adjustments and DQ issues to identify inconsistencies and the most impactful areas for remediation.
  • Work closely with upstream business functions to validate and identify DQ issues as close to source, as possible
  • Understand the booking models, trade processing and system landscape for SCB business functions.
  • Work with Risk to understand and correlate DQ exceptions and adjustments for BCBS239 purposes
  • For key regulatory reports correlate and compare key metrics for review with process teams.
  • Conduct data analysis and define business rules in Informatica for implementation and monitoring of DQ
  • Review Operational Risk Events (ORE&rsquos) from a DQ perspective and ensure DQ items are logged correctly
  • Work with Data solutions team and Process Owners to prioritise and remediate DQ issues at source
  • Provide insight into the Finance data for Senior Management to understand materiality and prioritise DQ issues and escalations appropriately
  • Review and standardise the way that data quality issues are managed and reported.
  • Establish a mechanism to aggregate, quantify and risk assess DQ issues.
  • Comply, Monitor, Validate and report all Capital Metrics in Capital CoE. This includes identification, measurement, monitoring and control of all thresholds set as part of Governance Framework of the bank.
  • Ensure the right level of diligence, control and governance in resolution of service issues (e.g. stakeholder management, product team approvals, facilitating solution definition, approvals etc).
  • Actively participate and contribute on all ongoing knowledge management initiatives to develop functional content in the areas of Capital Reporting framework.
  • Develop a functional comprehension of data sourced into Capital CoE and their impacts to Capital computations.
  • Develop subject matter expertise around Capital/RWA and associated Regulatory Reporting.
  • Work towards continuous improvement to identify and implement opportunities to decrease process turn-around time and improve productivity.
  • Provide information into DQ Governance forums (Capital Data Quality Forum) for all relevant Processes (where material DQ Risk is identified these are appropriately escalated to Finance Risk Committee).

Our Ideal Candidate
Domain Knowledge
Minimum 12 – 15 years of work experience in Banking domain involving one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor’s / Master&rsquos Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other Technology field preferred
  • Experience in Data Governance, Metadata Management, Business Intelligence, or Data Analysis
  • Domain skills on Risk Weighted Assets (RWA) Analysis & Reporting, Basel II / III Reporting/Regulatory Reporting, Credit Risk Analytics, Core Banking, Trade & lending products, Treasury products (Foreign exchange, Money market, Bonds etc), Client on boarding or Due diligence, Regulatory or Internal reporting, sanctions/ anti-money-laundering, Risk Management (Market, Credit or Operational), Data Governance, OR (in line with Exposure to Basel III, BCBS 239 or IFRS9)
  • IT or data analysis/ profiling roles supporting the above areas
  • In addition, candidates from outside the banking domain will be considered if they have deep functional knowledge of finance and treasury function OR have been involved in data analysis and migration work in major data warehousing projects

Technical Skills

  • Candidate must be very proficient in MS Office application.
  • Must possess Prior experience of data analysis and profiling work
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge and skills in SQL
  • Experience of working with data profiling using Informatica tool or any other DQ monitoring tool (Tableau / MSTR)
