Qualification:
. Chartered Accountant preferred
. MBA or LLB
Experience:
. 12-14 years experience in direct taxes profile in consulting and industry
. audit experience during article ship
Knowledge & skills:
. Technical knowledge of income tax act, double tax avoidance agreements and international taxation
. Execution excellence and focus on talent development
. Influence and engage – Relationship Building & Interpersonal Awareness
. Exposure to complex business environments
* Experience of working in a matrix organisation
* Risk management and controls, budgeting, financial analysis
*Group and local financial reporting
Worked extensively with tax counsels and consulting firms

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
PERFORMANCE MEASURES (QUANTITATIVE / QUALITATIVE)
1) Business partnering
. Advising business on direct tax implications for various contracts entered and reorganizations
. Optimizing direct tax costs
. Ensuring refund of direct tax
. Documentation of RASCI matrix and SOP’s
. Advise on withholding tax, corporate tax, international taxation, employment tax matters
2) Direct tax Compliances, process excellence and audits
. Supervising filing of direct tax (corporate tax, withholding tax, TCS etc.) returns and timely payment of direct taxes
. Lower withholding tax orders
. Strengthening direct tax processes including leveraging technology to automate
. Managing various audit by direct tax authorities and protecting tax positions including filing of appeals
. Managing statutory audits including PPR analysis of risks and preparation of various schedules
. Ensure that robust contingency, risk management, and business continuity plans are in place
3) Disputes management and resolution
. Protecting tax positions taken before appellate authorities
. Evaluating amnesty schemes to resolve disputes
. Working closely with tax counsels and advisors on matters pending before appellate forums
. Working papers and advises to support the risk analysis of the matters in dispute
. APA / MAP
4) Advocacy and advisory
. Tax policy forums
. AlcoBev Industry forums
. Working closely with CR teams on policy initiatives
