Job Role
To drive a team to provide financial expertise to the CPBB business, in line with country, regional and group strategy. The role holder is expected to drive key outcomes in areas of strategy, controls & governance, stakeholder management and team leadership.
Key responsibilities
The job holder will be responsible for CPBB, Finance for India. The role involves the following elements:
- To partner with the business to develop an overall CPBB, Finance strategy keeping in mind the business direction, needs and objectives, and set a clear agenda for CPBB, Finance.
- To be a proactive member of the India Finance Management Team and a member of the CPBB, management forum in India, to contribute effectively to the development and execution of the Finance agenda for CPBB
- To be the lead Finance representative for CPBB, and ensure professional standards are established and maintained for all matters relating to finance business partnership, robust performance management, analysis and reporting framework for the business, financial controls and governance.
- To continually assess and develop the skills and capabilities of the function to meet business, regulatory and Group needs.
- To be a proactive member of the global Finance community, and support CPBB, India in Group CPBB, initiatives
- To actively engage and maintain relationships with relevant external stakeholders, such as auditors, industry forums, etc.
- Provide the business with options, recommendations and clear financial consequences based on robust analysis and transparent decision making framework.
- Performance Management : Continuously provide a balanced view of business performance against agreed external & internal benchmarks to drive optimal decisions, superior performance
- Balance Sheet Management : Partners the business in developing a deep understanding of the key drivers and to maintain an optimal balance sheet structure which balances capital efficiency, liquidity, risk and funding costs
- Governance, Compliance & Controls : Ensure group and regulatory governance standards are understood and underpinned by robust processes within the Finance function with appropriate self assessment and independent controls
- Risk Management: Actively participate in the group&rsquos Risk Management Framework and through its value generation roles, ensures that financial risk is identified, measured & mitigated.
- Cost Management & Productivity: Ensures costs & investments are aligned to business strategy, deliver targeted returns and that a culture of continuous productivity improvement is embedded in business processes.
- Budgeting & Reporting Cycle: Provides an efficient budgeting, forecasting & reporting platform which delivers accurate business information in the shortest cycle time and at lowest cost, to release capacity for value creation activities
- To provide direction & governance oversight to the SBIM team, and to ensure their priorities align with business priorities for the country
Knowledge/Skills/Experience
- Qualified Accountant or Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in Finance with extensive post qualification experience
- Good knowledge of Group Accounting Policies and Financial Control Framework
- Strong financial acumen, analytical skills and commercial awareness ability proactively support & constructively challenge business
- Strong leadership capability, high level of integrity with a strong result &ndash orientation
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Appreciation of and understanding of Bank matrix relationships
- Ability to engage stakeholders towards creating effective working relationships and partnerships
- Strong analytical skills and a creative problem solver, with an ability to exercise sound judgement
