Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead in platform engineering design activities, influence the roadmap, and guide technical direction
  • Manage a team of engineers to reach new heights and to deliver resilient, anti fragile systems at scale.
  • Coach your engineering team and keep them up to date by using new languages, tools & models. The landscape changes frequently and you’ll be expected to keep current with the best.
  • Remain hands on developing software. Develop proofs of concept & prototypes for new technologies & products.
  • Recruit and retain top engineers & developers who’ve had FinTech work experience for projects within DBS.
  • Create an internal open source community where you encourage sharing of reusable APIs and code.
  • Have relevant experience with the banking and/or payments technology and industry
  • Experience building highly scalable, robust and resilient web based systems which scale to millions of users and more than 2000 TPS and demonstrate proven skills in capacity & performance management at scale. Experience working with CAP Theorem and trade-offs available
  • Ability to effectively communicate across third parties and technical and business product managers on solution
  • Scrum/Agile leadership/adoption experience
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn new technologies and takes pride in how fast they develop working software

Required Experience/Skills:
Qualified professional with a University degree or equivalent.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computing or Engineering, a MS or PhD is a plus.
10+ years of relevant experience managing and leading a multiple engineering teams
Strong hands-on Experience with building REST and SOAP Web services, experience with ESB , SOA Security and have built or led the build of an API ecosystem within your current organisation.
Deep experience with on premise Cloud PaaS or other external cloud providers like AWS or Azure
Knowledge or experience in process improvement, continuous integration, deployment and general automation
Analytical skills Must be analytical, solution oriented, and able to propose and follow through both transformational and incremental change
Ability to think proactively towards automation and continuous improvements in the environment.
Interpersonal skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and be able to rapidly understand and retain knowledge of business processes and the technology systems.
Build positive working relationships with clients at all times providing realistic information and managing their expectations.

Technical skills
Expert in tools such as Git, Jenkins, Junit, etc. and technologies such as Java, Springboot, Microservices and Angular8.
Experience in REST API and web engineering experience, including demonstrated experience in Java, Web services/ API, MariaDB, DB2 applications
Understanding & experience in NO SQL DBs like MongoDB, Cassandra, Hadoop and demonstrates a deep understanding of a big data ecosystem.
Must be able to understand and work on the various development languages and platforms – Java/J2EE, WebSphere, SQL, Oracle, RBMS
Strong working knowledge in UNIX/Linux/Windows and Oracle/SQL Server (SQL Querying, SP, triggers, views & other DBO.)
UNIX shell scripting and/or Perl
Experience with Java technologies Java/J2EE is essential
Experience creating automation tools via scripting in both Linux as well as Windows environment. India
