Reporting to the Quality & Continuous Improvement Vice President, the Senior Manager of Continuous Improvement will be responsible for deploying and executing the enterprise Eaton Lean Six Sigma (ELSS) strategy and building the required skills and organizational capabilities while establishing clear and objective ELSS success measurements. The Senior Manager of CI will partner with sector senior leaders (Industrial Sector, Electrical Sector, Corporate) on deploying the strategy throughout the organization. This individual will act as a Sensei (Subject Matter Expert) to other CI Directors in the businesses. In addition, the position will be responsible to develop innovative ELSS training focused on global manufacturing and functional excellence. This position is responsible for the overall deployment of the ELSS process including development of the ELSS OpA criteria, development and education of ELSS trainers and coaches.
In this role, you will:

  • Partner and influence business Operations SVP-VPs-directors and CI directors to institutionalize a model for executing the ELSS strategy including:
  • Define and communicate playbook and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) including but not limited to High Five, OpA progression across Eaton.
    Institute leadership review process.
  • Partner with VP of Industry 4.0 and VP of OpEx to develop and implement Industry 4.0 roadmap as part of EBS And OpA ELSS roadmaps.
  • Lead the global CI Council. Benchmark with other Lean leader companies and partners to identify best practices to be implemented across Eaton
  • Act as a teacher to foster the enterprise ELSS mindset and capability building, focusing on lean principles.
  • Develop skill assessments to establish a baseline of current Lean skills across the enterprise & develop the plan to close the gap.
  • Educate and direct the education of Eaton ELSS professionals as well as other Eaton executives, senior leaders and managers in the specifics of ELSS, focusing on lean principles. This individual will serve and act as a Sensei to other ELSS professionals.
  • Develop and deploy ELSS criteria and learning to create competent, skilled effective calibrated cadre of Eaton subject matter experts to serve in the deployment and execution of ELSS. Directly support the educational activities and initiatives of ELSS such as plant manager training, executive leadership training, executive RIE, and others.
  • Create, develop, and deploy ELSS learning/training strategy for Managers of People (MOPs), including techniques for sharing the ELSS vision and ensuring all MOPs are familiar with ELSS foundational elements and principles. Identify flexible yet impactful solutions for Eaton’s global workforce.
  • Regularly review and enhance ELSS training courses delivered to employees, managers, senior leaders and executives to ensure training content quality, accuracy, currency, and effectiveness.
  • Ensure that standards and practices are scalable across the organization by partnering with the sector senior leaders
  • Serves as functional expert for other EBS tools and processes like EBE, PROLaunch, etc.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, business, or similar discipline; masters’ degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience leading manufacturing operations and or continuous improvement on a global scale

Technical knowledge:

  • Demonstrated track record of success in areas of ELSS, with an emphasis on lean
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor others in the tools of ELSS

Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices. The annual salary range for this role is $145,680- $200,310 a year
