As Senior Engineering Manager – Hardware, you will lead the Hardware Engineering team for Women’s Health and X-Ray team located in Bangalore, responsible for product development lifecycle while meeting quality, regulatory compliance, cost and business targets. This role reports into the Women’s Health and X-Ray Engineer site leader, India.

Roles and Responsibilities
In this role you will-

  • Set the strategy and direction of the Hardware engineering function, working with cross function team, senior architects, principal engineer, Chief Engineer, and imaging platform team.
  • Drive program execution rigor across Women Health and X-Ray team working closely with program team and cross functional team. Adopt Agile culture in Hardware development cycle.
  • Deliver installed base scope, productivity, new program development through the team to create a positive business impact.
  • Lead Innovation culture and advance development programs.
  • Lead continuous improvement of systems, products, and processes to enable execution of technology strategy
  • Functional leadership of the team, including recruitment, talent development, coaching and mentoring. Identify the competencies required to recruit & develop a high-performing engineering team with deep functional and domain expertise.
  • Resource assignment and prioritization including headcount, base cost, and program budgets.
  • Ensure the product design and design changes are compliant to quality, certification and regulatory requirements.
  • Support existing products within Manufacturing, Sourcing, Service and Supplier Quality Engineering
  • Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes, or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform the work.
  • Partner with Project / program leadership to make resource assignments and drives the execution of deliverables owned by the team.
  • Partner with Global functional managers to share best practices and standardize operating mechanism, including common tool use and technology adoption

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Power Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 12+ progressive engineering work experience.
  • Prior supervisory and/or strong product management experience of 3+ years with proven mentoring and coaching abilities; demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire others.

Desired Characteristics

  • Demonstrated ability of leading multi-disciplinary engineering team(s) in a people leaders or product manager’s capability
  • Proven experience in systems Design/ systems Integration involving components from disciplines such as electrical, mechanical for healthcare products.
  • Demonstrated experience driving and implement end-to-end hardware value engineering and cost out projects.
  • Strong Imaging domain or related experience.
  • Demonstrate strong hardware technical skill and manufacture deign transfer skill
  • Hands on experience in product development methodology
  • Previous experience in regulated medical device company
