Job Purpose:
The role bearer has the responsibility to actively support internal audits on review of Internal Financial Controls of the bank. It entails following the complete process – assist in – creating checklists, conducting audits/review of IFC RCMs as per the defined timelines, publishing the Gap reports and preparing for presentations to be conducted quarterly. The role bearer has to adhere by the guidelines set by the bank for audit reports – making the audit process more efficient contributing to the larger objectives of the bank.
Roles & Responsibilities:

  • To plan out the flow of activities to be performed and to decide the scope of the IFC audit and to participate in team planning and to give recommendations.
    Advising the management in the processes to be used and perform quality reviews.
    To perform the testing of the management documents and to achieve the highest possible reliability for the external auditors. Performing follows up reviews and identifying control gaps.
    To guide the process owners on different risks and to maintain control awareness.
    Perform quality assurance review for key controls before handing them over to the external auditor
    Advising the management based on the report prepared. To act as a coordinator between the management and the external auditor.
    Perform tests of different departments as per the scope of the audit. Identify control gaps and review the plans and policies of the management for bridging the control gaps.
    Keep IFC document up-to-date and make the required changes in RCM for changes in the process, system, regulations etc.
    The candidate should be able to clearly distinguish between Operational and Financial Controls and will be required to carry out regular testing of operating effectiveness of Key Controls at Business & Operations Units.
    Continuous monitoring of IFC controls and check evidences
    Identify gap in operating effectiveness and follow-up for remediation actions
    Create awareness about internal controls and IFC strengthening the function by benchmarking with good practices in the industry
    Provide the Audit Committee of the Board and the senior management with an opinion on the adequacy, effectiveness and efficiency of the internal controls in the bank

An Ideal Candidate should possess:
Relevant experience in Banking Industry or Big 4 of conducting Internal Audit
Hands on Knowledge on COSO & ERM is preferred.
Experience in implementation of Internal Financial Controls as per Companies Act or worked in Finance & Accounts
Strong analytical skills (including proficiency in MS excel) & excellent interpersonal skills is preferred.
Educational Qualifications:
CA/MBA/Master in Finance from premier institute
Experience:
Minimum of 6-8 Years in Internal Audit / Implementation & Testing of IFC or SOX framework is preferred.
