Job Description:

The Revenue Assurance team is critical to the revenue process within Micro Focus, as the team with direct responsibility to ensure the accurate recording and reporting of revenue through the general ledger and financial statements through end-to-end management of revenue accounting in Micro Focus systems. The members of this team will seek to increase knowledge and expertise in all aspects of the revenue processes, including all relevant transaction types and the associated system design.

The Revenue Assurance team will serve as a clear, single point of escalation to field and support queries regarding revenue and related balance sheet accounts and will act as the governing organization overseeing and leading the integrity of the Group’s revenues and communicating with relevant stakeholders.

This role will encompass the following skills, responsibilities and focus areas:

Serve as an expert in the full end-to-end system-designed revenue transactions and processes with support from technical resources as required. Gain knowledge in the end to end quote to cash process from Order Management, Invoicing, Credit and Collections.

Collaborate with Finance Operations and drive processes to ensure accuracy of revenue impacting balances (Accounts Receivable, Unbilled, and Deferred). Support policy and process improvement and identifies opportunities that are results oriented, effective and efficient.

Establish and maintain an effective internal controls and SOX compliance environment especially related to the balance sheet accounts (Deferred, Unbilled and Accounts Receivable) by performing relevant monthly recons and provide a monthly report to management on the health of these Balance Sheet accounts.

Maintain accurate and timely records and backup of corrections to enable monthly reporting to the management including the detailed analysis and related conclusions of the Revenue Assurance Team in relation to the accuracy of the month and year-to-date recorded revenue and related balance sheet accounts (AR, Deferred, Unbilled etc.).

Lead, mentor and providing guidance to junior analysts and be responsible for all revenue and the related balance sheet account activities for a region/regions as assigned.

Work collaboratively with other teams in Finance (e.g. Order Management, Invoicing, Finance Operations, Controllership, C&C etc.) and IT to independently lead investigation and drive resolution of issues including providing direction on any corrective transactions required.

Support finance systems migration as needed and lead the modification of existing processes as required by system changes

Accountability for leading the business side of system issue resolution with IT, including testing and validating results in production after implementation.

Review and analyze system reports at regular intervals to validate that revenue transactions are accurate and revenue trends are in line with expectations.

Research sales transactions as required to proactively detect anomalies or errors and prescribe any required remedial action, including, but not limited to, system transactions, journal entries, training and system enhancements.

Support internal and external audits of revenue and related balance sheet accounts working with controllership. Liaison with controllership and auditors to provide expertise and independently drive resolution of complex revenue related issues.

Desired Skills

Strong Understanding of accounting and finance concepts. Hands on experience with finance systems (NetSuite etc.).

Excellent time management and multi-tasking abilities, with an ability to meet multiple deadlines.

Self-starter, ability to work with minimal supervision.

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).

Strong interpersonal skills with a capability to work across diverse teams and also an ability to work across virtual teams.

Advanced communication and presentation skills.

Highly organized and motivated team player.

Excellent project management skills.

Education and Experience

First level university degree with a focus in finance or accounting; advanced degree or accounting certification (e.g., CPA, MBA) preferred.

6+ years of experience as a financial analyst.

Typically experienced in more than one finance function.

Experience within a Global Technology or Software Company and operating within a SOX controls environment is preferred.
