Position Description
As the Agile Scrum Manager, you are responsible for the success of all projects in the portfolio. You will plan, execute, and deliver all projects on time, in budget, and within scope in accordance with business priorities. Throughout the lifecycle of each project, you will track project status and manage scrum teams to mitigate issues and risks.
As an Agile Scrum Manager, you will join a fast-paced environment to facilitate rapid and predictable software releases as you work with a team of highly skilled cloud engineers, UI/UX designers, data scientists, data engineers, QA engineers, product managers and other stakeholders. You will be a key part of a team that tackles complex high-performance feature requirements in advanced Digital initiatives involving IoT, Data and Analytics including AI/Machine Learning. You will be responsible for bringing a sense of urgency, open communication, collaboration and disciplined program management along with a mindset of continuous improvement in how we develop/deploy highly scalable cloud-based software services.
Responsibilities
– Develop and drive operational plans for new and ongoing project implementation activities through effective planning, coordination, communication and team leadership
– Work closely with product owners to understand the vision, objectives, and maintain backlog.
– Understand requirements and help in drafting user epics and stories in an Agile environment.
– Establish and drive adoption of Agile frameworks, tools and best practices
– Develop a release plan for projects based on scrum team capacity and velocity.
– Ensure SW best practices and established processed are followed (ex: code reviews, test cases etc)
– Coordinate and facilitate design sprints involving internal product managers, developers, data scientists, test engineers, UX/UI designers and other stake holders as necessary.
– Run daily stand-ups, epic/story grooming sessions and sprints retrospectives. Interact and engage with senior leadership and product managers to help team decide backlogs.
– Serve as a key bridge between individual scrum team members and dependent teams including third party vendors. Recognize and eliminate team obstacles.
– Facilitate all operational checkpoint activities throughout the lifecycle of projects and report to senior leadership in clear and succinct manner.
– Have a strong Project Management methodology.
Requirements
– Experience being the Scrum Master for at least3 years for a Scrum team with over all 10+ years of experience
– 3+ years of experience being on multiple Scrum teams in a variety of different contexts (different team s, different organizations, different cultures, co-located vs. distributed)
– 3+ years of experience in managing scrum teams for cloud-based system development with advanced web/mobile applications design and launch.
– 3+ years of experience in applying a wide variety of well documented patterns and techniques for scrum processes, such as retrospectives, burn-down monitoring, reporting metrics etc.
– Experience using SDLC (software development lifecycle) practices and frameworks and backlog management tools (e.g. JIRA/Confluence/etc).
– Good skills and knowledge of facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
– Ability to work successfully in a team environment.
– Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
– Clear written and verbal communications skills; Attention to detail, self-motivated, creative and flexible; Excellent time management and organizational skills.
– Travel less than 10%.
– Certification as a Scrum Master, Agile Certified Practitioner, SAFe or PMP is a plus
– Degree in Computer Science or a related field is a plus.
– Must have prior track record as a Scrum manager for cloud-based platform/products/services
