JOB PURPOSE:
- Specialist is responsible for the delivery of regulatory reports (both internal and external) , adhering to SLA, operating instructions and quality requirements.
- Provide insightful analysis on variances and provide commentaries on the underlying movements.
- Handle queries and provide any adhoc support as may be required
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure timely delivery of services relating to the Regulatory Reporting and all other internal and external reporting requirements as agreed with Country Finance Division (CFD).
- Ensure services are delivered within the SLA, working with a cohesive team to produce the Analysis and Reports in a timely and accurate manner. Any breach in SLA’s is immediately escalated to the Line Manager with due reasons as applicable.
- Exercise right level of diligence, control and governance to comply with bank’s Data Quality and Reporting Standards including those that are prescribed for the Regulatory Reporting and ensure that the reports that are reviewed/ generated are in line with expectation and due diligence is adhered to and ensure consistency and promptness in service delivery.
- Comply, Monitor, Validate and Report all Key Performance Indicators within the overall service delivery framework. This includes identification, measurement, monitoring and control of all thresholds set as part of Governance Framework of the bank. Any breaches of the above framework are promptly highlighted to the line manager
- Responsible for the preparation and analytical review of Regulatory Reports / Returns as well as Adherence to various Rules and Regulations of the Regulators.
- Responsible for Supporting Annual Regulatory Examination / Audits
- Responsible for the preparation of various MIS / Variance Analysis and work on the Ad hoc by gauging the requirements from stakeholders and help in GFS vide governance activities. (e.g. compilation of Key Risk Indicators, Dashboard, Metrics etc)
- The ability to work to a high degree of accuracy under pressure is important as during the reporting periods the team is required to meet tight deadlines.
- Continuously innovate with focus to improve process – enhance efficiencies and add value; ensuring quality consciousness in all aspects of the team.
- Challenge processes in order to achieve more effective processes and efficiency saves to the Organization.
- Independent and Confident, able to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
- Work towards continuous improvement to identify and implement opportunities to decrease process turn-around time and improve productivity.
- Work with different stakeholders to continuously improve process controls and efficiency of delivery of services.
- Update DOI’s and cross train other team members so that the service provided is seamless.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Essential:
- CA/CWA or its equivalent, MBA (Finance), MBA (Banking), or having relevant work experience in regulatory reporting would be preferred
- Strong/Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to clearly articulate complicated issues to management and other impacted areas and ensure timely resolution of breaks and issues
- Work experience in Regulatory reporting / Financial Analysis, Financial Reporting, Preparation of dashboards and metrics and relevant technical experience
- Understanding of banking products/processes and a understanding of fundamentals of regulatory reporting, Balance Sheet Management and accounting/finance.
- Familiarity with the SCB Technology infrastructure (knowledge of TPs, products, data flow, PSGL , other finance interfaces) would be beneficial for internal candidates
- Must have excellent attention to detail and work within tight deadlines ensuring a complete and accurate flow of information%27s.
- Be number savvy and have the appetite in handling and processing mass volume of data.
- Strong analytical skills required to perform complex analysis on the financial numbers and process flow to identify the root cause.
- Proficient working knowledge in PeopleSoft Ledger.
- Strongly analytical and logical mindset with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other query tools (Microsoft Office Access).
