Statutory Accounting Manager
Job location: Gurgaon
In this role, you have the opportunity to
As a Statutory Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for driving compliant, effective and efficient statutory process at local & regional level.
You are responsible for
Process Ownership

  • Stay updated with changes on statutory rules and regulations (close cooperation with statutory Auditors, external consultants) to be able to assess business impact.
  • Translate IFRS/GAAP to Local GAAP via statutory adjustments.
  • Provide accurate, completed & timely data for statutory reporting, fiscal reporting and other requirements.
  • Manage on local level Operating Model for Statutory Reporting.
  • Contact point for statutory / internal auditors and local authorities .Manages Statutory and Periodic Internal Audits.
  • First contact point for external auditors and responsible for coordinating statutory & tax audit.
  • Fulfills requests from regulatory & tax authorities- provide support during fiscal audits.
  • Co-ordination with Accounting Operation, Tax Group, MTM, CTM on any other statutory accounting related activities.
  • Complete Internal Controls work according to Internal Control Standards( ICS ) tool on a timely and accurate basis and supervise ICS tasks carried out by other members.
  • Drive standardization/harmonization of Statutory Accounting ways of working across regions.
  • Develop KPI’s/measurements to effectively measure and monitor out performance across regions.

Monitoring of operational performance

  • Accurate and timely statutory filings with a high quality of reporting with no fines or penalties.
  • Ensure statutory directive and deadlines are adhered to and quality of work is high (including the yearly equity reconciliation).
  • Ensure adequate control over statutory process as reflected in ICS Controls and internal and external audits.
  • Develop KPI’s/measurements to effectively measure and monitor out performance across regions.
  • Constantly look for improvement opportunities in the area of direct responsibility, but not limited to and drive implementation (compliance, quality and process efficiency).
  • Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends.

You are a part of
You will be part of Philips Domestic Appliances Finance organization. You will report functionally to the Accounting Controller and work closely with the Global Finance teams and the 3rd party service providers
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • A chartered accountant with post qualification experience of 6-8 years and 5 years of relevant experience in an MNC.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of local tax & statutory requirements and good understanding of IFRS.
  • Advanced knowledge of valuation skills.
  • Knowledge of local GAAP to tax GAAP differences.
  • Advanced working knowledge of SAP (FI, CO module).
  • Excellent communication skills.
