Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services and Systems division – Mission Critical Program has an opening for a Mission Critical Project Execution Manager (Turnkey Focus). This position will be based in Raleigh, NC and does offer relocation assistance.

The Mission Critical Execution Manager primary functions are:

  • Managing a resource pool of Mission Critical Team Project Managers. The primary focus of the team is on project management skills and associated support functions.
  • Use of modern project management tools and techniques to design and execute projects related to the engineering, procurement, and construction of electrical power system modifications with a UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply) centric focus.
  • Lead modernization projects related to electrical power generation, transmission and distribution industry with specific focus on critical power systems.
  • Deliver projects with a high degree of professionalism and safety, using his/her knowledge of industrial and utility power distribution equipment, power system engineering, critical power systems & construction safety.
  • Manage Mission Critical Project Managers with assignments, training, vacation schedules, technical guidance, mentoring, problem escalation, and project status reports.
  • Have full responsibility of managing the PM’s on all PM turnkey projects and authority to complete them from inception through scope development, planning, execution, management of people and resources.
  • Have the discipline to create clear and achievable cost, quality, and schedule objectives and follow these objectives through to successful completion and reporting on status to the MC Program Manager.
  • Provide technical leadership to the district sales & service teams on projects being executed.
  • Manage PM’s on the execution of awarded turnkey projects with various electrical equipment, including working knowledge of electrical system design & installation. Equipment includes: transformers, switchgear, switchboards, distribution systems, data floors, power distribution units, Uninterrupted Power Systems, motor control centers, automatic transfer switches, generators, rotating equipment and AC drives.
  • Have a complete understanding of construction safety and safety equipment.
  • Be competent in designing, managing, on-site construction, project completion requirements, and dealing with customer relations.
  • Develop templates and guidelines for the Project Managers in providing professional and winning proposals for various types of requirements such as Trade-off Best Value to LPTA (lowest price technically acceptable).
  • Review and provide feedback on all site surveys, proposal documentation, and other customer deliverables required by project managers.
  • Coordinate and provide annual training and mentoring to Project Managers for the Mission Critical Business.

Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Institution
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience managing electrical turnkey projects
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or management experience
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Preferred qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working as a Project Manager on Mission Critical Projects with focus on UPS Centric and Data Room Centric power systems.
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering from an accredited Institution
  • Experience with Power Quality equipment and the application in a turnkey design and construction.
  • Retired Military, highly preferred.
  • Project Management Professional
  • Management of government projects and commercial projects.
  • Managed a team for projects from design through execution and closeout
