Amazon is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic candidate to join the fast paced world of Payroll operations. We are not an average retailer and this is definitely not your average payroll position reporting in through Amazon Finance Operations. We’re looking for exceptional people with outstanding auditing skills, problem solving skills, payroll process combined with payroll system knowledge, and customer service passion.
Amazon seeks a Payroll Specialist with at least four years payroll experience in a large customer-oriented corporate environment. Payroll is processed on a Weekly, Bi-weekly and Monthly basis in multiple states, and this person will perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility including data compilation and support of the Payroll Team.
Responsibilities also include:
· Manage US payroll tax queries from employees or stake holders
· Ensuring compliance to US Payroll Tax laws and obligations
· Work with agencies to register new entities, pay and or file taxes
· Review and action on agency notices (as required)
· Work with HR teams to update new paygroups, tax headers and locations on Amazon system and ADP applications (payroll vendor)
· Support vendor on unemployment claims
· Process tax activities for new hires, terminations and transfer employees.
· Work with stock team to share updated tax rates
· Support year-end tax activities including payroll tax audit
Basic Qualifications :
· B.com / MBA / M.com or equivalent degree
· 4+ years of experience in US Payroll & Tax
· Ability to analyze and determine root causes, help create preventative actions, and provide clear written responses to stake holders.
· Excellent verbal, visual, written and listening skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
· Flexible to work in shifts
Preferred Qualifications :
· Prior experience in Payroll
· PMP Certified or Six Sigma Green Belt certified
· Excellent verbal and written skills
· Strong experience with customer service
· Strong problem solving and review skills
