The Role Responsibilities
Functional Core Responsibilities :

  • Manage the Retail / Consumer Banking reconciliations with reference to varied products of Standard Chartered Bank.
  • Reconcile Atm/ CDM %26ndash; Cash Withdrawal %26amp; Deposit reconciliations of the the Bank%26rsquo;s General Ledger, varied Branch Accounts held for different business purposes across the Globe.
  • Sundry Debtors – different nature of Funds receivable%26rsquo;s and Sundry Creditor%26rsquo;s – – different nature of Funds payable%26rsquo;s operated for each segment of businesses in the Bank.
  • Lending Products Reconciliations %26ndash; Various nature of transactions involved in the Secured %26ndash; Mortgage Product / Unsecured Product %26ndash; Peronsal Loans and Credit card business in terms of Disbursement, Repayment, merchant Deposit and payments, Redemptions and other levy of Fees and charges to the General Ledger.
  • Settlement Reconciliations pertaining to different Franchises according to the Local markets and Central Bank regulations. Eg: Visa or Mastercard Settlements or any domestic Switch / network Settlements to be reconciled on a Daily basis and Exceptions monitoring for the same.
  • Reconciliation of all Digital Channel and Utility payments as per the country guidelines basis the arrangement with each service provider%26rsquo;s and resolving breaks.
  • Manage accounting compendium for retail from a reconciliation perspective including linkages with product program and allied documentation. This involves leveraging on core accounting knowledge and deep domain knowledge of retail products, platforms, client transaction life cycle and settlement life cycle with counterparties such central banks, exchange houses, VISA, Master Card and payment aggregators and engage with country and Ops product heads in RB business.

General Responsibilities :

  • Uphold the values of the Group and Company at all times.
  • Comply with all applicable rules / regulations and Company %26amp; Group Policies.
  • Contribute to efficient functioning of the Unit.
  • Continuously improve in productivity to the standards prescribed for the process from time to time.
  • Familiarize with Group Operational Risk, Group Money Laundering Prevention and other Policy and Procedures to the extent applicable.
  • Ensure team performs error free reconciliation as per procedures and DOI / Reconciliation Policy using reports from various necessary applications.
  • Effectively reducing the error rate %26amp; adherence to all controls and checks.
  • Handle customer queries and correspondence (both internal and external) and maintain effective working relationships with all departments including IT / IS.
  • Manage and oversee processes to ensure effective follow ups and escalations, both internal and external, in resolving outstanding items and all process and system issues, strictly as per agreed SLA / matrices / DOI
  • Assist Management for process mapping and automation / improvement efforts.
  • Assist Management in testing and take over activities for new processes; Senior Managers in efforts towards achieving the same.
  • Work to reduce System Downtime.
  • Contribute to projects at Department and Group level.
  • Undertake any activity as may be advised by Line Manager, Senior Manager or Head, GRH.
  • Act as a back-up for reconciliation of any site as advised by Line Manager, Senior Manager or Head, GRH.
  • Maintain Learning Development Plan (LDP) and ensure participation in training programs organized within the department, by the concerned Training Team / OL.
  • Act as authorized person for GRH archives and records with M/S Crown Archival Agency.
  • Follow up and maintain proper records of archived documents.
  • Effective Cost Control of the Team + Unit as a whole and aim for reduction on an ongoing basis.
  • Readiness for Audits %26ndash; External/Internal
  • Champion 6s for GRH
  • Act as ADCC for BCP, once specifically assigned. Understand and implement the provisions of the GRH BCP document and ensure full participation in all BCP related activities. Responsible for updating and implementation of BCP documents and tests.
  • Delegation of authority as applicable will be issued depending on the Roles and responsibilities handled.
