Job Description :
Amazon’s Risk Intelligence team plays a key role in the interpretation, transformation, and dissemination of intelligence crucial to the protection of Amazon customers and partners from fraudulent actors. Risk Intelligence relies on a varied data set from across the Amazon ecosystem, and is looking for a motivated business analyst to partner with our teams to source relevant data, conduct descriptive analysis and extract insights into the threats and vulnerabilities that impact Amazon.
Your role will focus on understanding and extracting data from available data sources, including relational databases, redshift clusters and data lakes. Partnered with threat intelligence analysts, you will quickly and discretely provide data and insights to assist in decision making and actively thwart emergent and current threats and vulnerabilities in our systems. Specific duties of this role include: data collection and acting as the subject matter expert on repositories/warehouses across our ecosystem; validating data to ensure accuracy in the output; identifying key data for projects across a variety of data stores and efficiently extracting and processing it; generating descriptive statistics and extracting insights.
Basic Qualifications :
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field
· 2+ years of experience in a business analyst/data analyst/statistical analyst role
· 2+ years of experience conducting analysis and data mining
· Proficient in extracting and processing data using SQL
· Strong analytical and coding skills, with 2+ years’ experience with Python or a comparable language
Preferred Qualifications :
· Proven problem solving skills, project management skills, attention to detail, and exceptional organizational skills
· 3+ years of relevant experience in a business analyst/data analyst/statistical analysis role
· Understanding of data warehousing and data modeling
· Experience with Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) databases – Redshift, Teradata etc
· Excellent communication (verbal, written, and data presentation) and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
· Experience in investigating fraud, abuse and eCrime.
· Experience with e-commerce or online payment fraud.
· Knowledge of retail and social media ecosystems.
