We are looking for a Technical Writer to join our engineering team.
Job Responsibilities
- You will be working in an Agile environment collaborating closely with the engineering team, with minimum
- supervision.
- Your primary role will be to create and edit technical product documentation, such as developer guides,
- user manuals, web service guides, API reference manuals, installation manuals, help documents, and
- tutorials. You will need to effectively plan, schedule, research, and write.
- Define target audience, outline manuals, and write documentation that is technically accurate and
- conforms to company’s writing style guidelines.
- Document new features and maintain existing documentation, including online helps and PDFs.
- Work closely with developers, product architects, and product owners to create technical documentation
- with a high focus on clarity, completeness, accuracy, and usability.
- Obtain product information from agile meetings, specifications, supplemental material, and discussions with
- project engineers.
- Participate in peer review processes to improve documentation quality.
- Contribute to develop and maintain existing documentation processes, standards, checklists, and
- templates.
- Suggest screen labels and error messages with a focus on improving the customer experience (UX).
- Create graphics to supplement flow and presentation of the content.
- Help in translation and localization processes.
- Manage product/component validation according requirements from Product Owner
- Develop and maintain automated tests
- Ensure product releases delivery with high level quality
- Manage support requests within SLA
Job Skills & Qualifications
- 5 years (minimum) as Technical Writer
- Proven English writing skills. Exposure of familiarity with programming languages is not required, but will be a
- plus.
- Experience with the single-source documentation development methodology.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment and software licensing domain.
- Good decision-making and planning skills, strong research skills, high attention-to-detail, and team player
- skills.
- Self-motivated with positive attitude and analytical skills.
- Ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Experience with MadCap Flare, Jira, Confluence, MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), and Visio.
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, technical writing, or a related field. Preference to BE/B.Tech/M.
- Tech/MCA degree holders
