Senior Security Engineer – Network Security PayPal is looking for an experienced Security Engineer to be part of the Global Network Services team. GNS is responsible for building, maintaining and protecting PayPal’s data, infrastructure and services. Responsibilities: ⢠Youâll be working with architects and engineers in our Payment organization to secure infrastructure, servers and services/applications running on the infrastructure. ⢠Act as a domain expert and consultant with business, systems, networks, and outside entities on currently defined security posture. ⢠Assist defining security best practices, security policies, and security improvement initiatives. ⢠Proactively identify information security risks and develop solutions to mitigate security risks. ⢠Evaluate and recommend new and emerging security products and technologies. ⢠Develop and improve processes for expediting reviews and improving coordination between business and security. ⢠Provide support to the business, systems, infrastructure and the NOC to maintain availability of a global payment network.
Qualifications:
- Work with key stakeholders from PayPal’s Business, Engineering and Infrastructure to drive service integration meeting defined security postures on premises and in cloud deployments.
- Strong knowledge in technical foundations of modern public cloud computing and networking security.
- Strong technical understanding of cloud security deployments and challenges within Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other public cloud deployments.
- Extensive experience with Palo Alto Networks Panorama management, Next Generation Firewall and Palo services in design, deployment and support.
- Experience with Cisco Secure Manager (CSM), Cisco ASA and FTD Next Generation Firewall platforms in design, deployment and support.
- Experience and deployment of emerging distributed firewall technology like Aporeto.
- Design, document and implement policies, procedures and controls to meet PayPalâs security and compliance needs.
- Experience in securing infrastructures and services in large online payments company.
- Applied knowledge of coding: Python, GO or shell scripting.
- Ability to react to high pressure dynamic changing environments.
- BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years as Security Engineer focusing on Firewall security design, deployment and support.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work on a team or independently.
- Technical Leadership capability with Project and time management skills
- Excellent communication, verbal and writing skills.
