The Platform Engineering team within Site Reliability & Cloud Engineering (SRCE) Organization empowers PayPal Developers to own their availability, performance and efficiency through Platform and Product Offerings covering Operability and Reliability space. Platform Engineering team builds scalable and reliable platform capabilities that enhances DevOps potential such as Automated Incident Management, Auto Triage, Auto remediation and Change Validations. We are looking to hire a leader to lead Platform Engineering team in India. Job Requirements: ï Business acumen, hands-on technology skills, positive work ethic and a collaborative mind set are the key to your success in this role. ï Attract, mentor, coach and retain top notch software engineering talent. ï Manage team consisting of entry level and experienced senior level software engineers, conduct career conversations and performance reviews, and make compensation decisions. ï Manage scrum team(s) responsible for the delivery of Platform capabilities. ï Partner with business units, product, program management, analytics stakeholders and cross-functional teams to build high quality world class software products following agile development practices. ï Manage development and deployment in rapidly evolving technology stack. ï Facilitate and drive key technology decisions with senior technology stakeholders. ï Track business impact of features on a regular basis, and rely on performance data to make informed decisions about possible changes or improvements. ï Focus on quality and efficiency, suggest and drive changes that lead to higher developer productivity and improve product quality. ï Be a thought leader and build a culture of learning and sharing technology insights across the technology teams. ï Bring innovation to the table that helps in improving the resiliency of products you are responsible for, sell your ideas and drive change.
Qualifications:
- MS or BS degree in computer science or equivalent with 10+ years of experience planning, designing, developing and delivering large scale platforms and products.
- 3+ years of people leadership experience, excelling at hiring, motivating, coaching and getting best out of people.
- Ability to build credibility with senior engineers and senior management; able to earn and sustain the respect of highly technical professionals.
- Proven track record of delivering results in an aggressive and fast paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to create a supportive work environment for career and personal development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
