The Role Responsibilities

  • The role will assist Data %26amp; Product Accounting change delivery stream lead/s by
    • Working with Product Control to review and understand trade and transaction booking models and life cycle events across banking products focused initially on Investment Banking – repos, bonds and other treasury products.
    • Documenting required accounting entries that comply with IFRS and SCB Group Accounting policy manual
    • Identify trade and transaction life cycle events where current state accounting does not comply with IFRS and SCB Group Accounting policy Manual, and work with SCB internal stakeholders (including Accounting SME’s, Group Reporting teams) to either
      • Close non-compliance gaps by documenting and agreeing to revised compliant accounting entries; or
      • Document non-compliance areas and ensure appropriate Finance stakeholders sign-off specific reasons for non-compliance (for example, a system or booking model limitation)
    • Provide recommended double entry accounting to Product Finance Reconciliations and / or Technology teams that are responsible for system configuration for each Trade / Transaction processing system, country, legal entity, product, etc, that is migrated to the strategic SAP architecture.
    • Partner with configuration teams to assist their understanding and resolve queries, perform functional and regression testing, coordinate with business users for user acceptance testing and signoff.
    • Act as point of contact for Finance, Liquidity and Capital reporting stakeholders for Product Finance accounting queries.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in Product Control / Finance / Change Management roles
  • Exposure to accounting reconciliations, critical data elements, DQMF, BCBS239 data governance
  • Familiarity with database concepts and SQL
  • Qualified accountant (CA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent) is desirable
  • Understanding of Local and IFRS GAAP requirements
  • Experience working in waterfall %26amp; agile methodologies
  • Experience analysing data to draw business-relevant conclusions and data visualization techniques and tools
  • Able to work on multiple work streams in parallel, providing support to other team members when required
  • Able to work independently and provide / design solutions to areas identified in business requirements
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Able to obtain buy-in for recommended options from senior stakeholders.
  • Strong self-starter with minimal need for guidance/supervision
