The Applications Development Senior Supervisor is an intermediate management level position responsible for providing full leadership and direction to a team of employees in an effort to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities.
Responsibilities:
- Design, code, test functionality on the Market Making platform
- Liaise with regional and global development teams to ensure that the project needs are addressed
- Analysis, design, development, testing, support and maintenance of market making applications
- Provide 2nd line support in business hours (and occasionally out of hours)
- Work and liaise closely with other teams that are in scope of the project
- Interact with business users in London, Frankfurt and Sydney for requirements
- Responsible for on time delivery of commitments
Job Background
- Position is based in Pune, India and candidate will report to the Project Lead in Pune and will work with the global stakeholders (business and technology) across multiple locations.
- Candidate should have 5-7 years of sound technical experience
- Self motivated candidate and able to work individually and in team based environment
- Requires good analytical skillsand able to work in multi tasking environment.
- Pro-active and dynamic individual who is able to perform under pressure.
Requirements
Required
- Excellent knowledge of Java with strong OOP and OOAD skills
- Good data structure and architectural design skills
- Good knowledge of design patterns
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Ability to work with globally distributed teams
Desired
- Experience in Front Office trading applications: Cash/ ETF/Equity Options market making.
Qualifications:
Must Have:
- 5-7 years of sound technical and functional experience
- Ability to work individually and in team based environment
- Pro-active and dynamic individual who is able to perform under pressure in a front-office trading environment
- Good understanding of multithreading, test driven programming
- Good understanding of SQL queries.
- Exposure to message driven architecture
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Candidate should be willing to work extended hours in order to interact with global partners/teams or as per project demand.
Nice to have:
- Prior Investment Banking experience is desirable
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree B.Tech / MCA / M.Tech (in Computer science or related fields)
