Systems Engineer II
Duties & Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:

  1. Configures, manages, monitors, maintains and troubleshoots corporate servers running Windows 2016/2019 server operating systems.
  2. Manages and maintains all production servers running AD, DNS, DHCP with little or no supervision.
  3. Reviews and architects Active Directory design improvements.
  4. Configures and maintains SAN (Nimble Storage) solution, including replication, snapshots and performance scaling.
  5. Supports and maintains all environments, including Dev, QA, Demo, Past, DR and Production.
  6. Manages Patch management processes for all environments (Dev, QA, Demo, Past, DR and Production).
  7. Creates Powershell Scripts to automate any/all applicable jobs, including AD and Exchange.
  8. Sets up and maintains virtualized environment with Hyper-V.
  9. Sets up and maintains windows clustering, providing high availability and load balancing for servers.
  10. Supports the software development team for requests or issues, including any 3rd party software used.
  11. Responsible for deployments during software releases, including Production, Demo and DR, including any hotfixes.
  12. Runs vulnerability scans and remediates any vulnerabilities.
  13. Reviews and responds to any endpoint protection alerts to ensure all environments are protected.
  14. Creates detailed documentation and diagrams of production IT environments.
  15. Manages and maintains all backups
  16. Monitors server performance.
  17. Monitors all logs for any issues.
  18. Performs Crash Dump Analysis.
  19. Monitors and maintains network infrastructure.
  20. Identifies areas for continuous improvement.
  21. Participates in new technology evaluations.
  22. Performs ongoing oversight of a disaster recovery plan for IT infrastructure.
  23. Assists with policy and procedures related to IT infrastructure.
  24. Ensures change control process for all production changes.
  25. 24/7 on call.
  26. Performs other duties as assigned.

Other Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for representing the company and for providing customer service in a professional manner when working with staff and other customers/vendors.
  2. Ensures that annual performance self-evaluation is completed within company guidelines.
  3. Attends all department staff meetings and other meetings as directed.
  4. Performs all duties and responsibilities in compliance with safety guidelines, policies and procedures, regulations as outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations, and other applicable federal, state and local laws.
    a. Performs quality control practices as defined by the policies and procedures.
  5. Supports the organization’ s Standards of Professional Conduct as outlined in the Policies and Procedures, and the mission, vision and values of the organization.
  6. Maintains a neat and organized work station and environment.
  7. Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Competencies and Skills
Required

  1. Understands networking technologies and infrastructure.
  2. Understands Windows infrastructure (AD, DNS, GPO, etc.).
  3. Microsoft technical design and implementation experience.
  4. MS Hyper-V
  5. IIS configuration and troubleshooting
  6. PowerShell
  7. Windows Clustering and high availability
  8. Load Balancing
  9. Release management
  10. SDLC methodologies
  11. Excellent fundamental problem solving and analytical skills.
  12. Candidate will be required to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  13. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Job Qualifications and Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’ s degree (BS) in related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
Experience: Six (6) years of Windows Server 2016/2019 experience. Four (4) years of IIS experience, production support and working in a SDLC environment.
Certification/License: Company requires employees to maintain a current California driver’ s license and current vehicle insurance.
Requirement: Employee must be able to pass a background check.
