The incumbent will lead the business partnership and internal controls and its compliance for Agri Business primarily. The role would require the person to setup and oversee operational controls, policies, procedures in Agri Business Unit and its adherence by driving continuous improvement. This would be a very key position wherein the incumbent would need to have close interaction with Zonal / Regional managers, internal & external stakeholders, and provide active support to shared services and corporate taxation team.
Key Responsibilities Strategic
Be in charge of the Internal Controls of the Agri business of the company cutting across various locations.
Implement DOA and ensure proper segregation of duties.
Work closely with the Agri business leadership, supply chain and zonal in charge strengthening internal controls in zones, branches and depots.
Partner with sales & marketing teams on devising schemes that will have maximum effectiveness. Measure, report and recommend changes appropriately.
Manage customers – credit limits, approvals and credit performance.
Identify control gaps and implement / strengthen controls where third party C&F agents support the business operations.
Operational
Accounting Operations Support
Ensure all the required inputs for transactions processing are timely sent to Shared Services team
Ensure timely inputs for monthly financial closing.
Review of AR, overdues and debtor management
Sales Support
Customer credit evaluation, assignment and monitoring in line with business credit policy.
Monitor customer scorecard, CAR file compliances of existing customers.
Handling of customer blocking and reactivation, release of blocked orders
Carry out financial evaluation of dealers/distributors
Support sales & marketing in formulation of special specific objective oriented schemes
Scheming process, from filing-validation, approval and settlement
Arranging time to time price circulars to trade as when required.
Provide support in MRP calculation.
Continuous Improvement
Promptly inform any changes in control and compliance environment impacting accounts, tax or other areas.
Provide continuous support in identifying improvement areas in the financial and operating control framework and support control and compliance team in applying them in a consistent manner across all zones & regions.
Compliances
Ensure adherence to financial procedures and systems.
Ensure local compliances and flag immediately any tax non-compliances to taxation team.
Audits
Handle internal and statutory audit queries during audit process and accounts finalisation.
Taxation
Ensure compliance and provide assistance to the corporate tax team in maintaining liasioning with local TAX and regulatory bodies.
Support corporate tax team in annual/ special audits/ assessment by external tax authorities.
Escalation Management
Interact with customers and support shared services in resolving all local issues whenever same is escalated to them.
Be a point in contact at the plant for any escalation of vendor payment related issues.
Financial
Ensure operational efficiency in order to improve performance.
Provide adequate support to sales & marketing decision making to improve business performance through right pricing, credit / debt management.
People
Attend trainings on training needs identified or imparted by HR.
Ensure staffing of vacant positions in team.
Recognise and reward high performers.
